Are there low profile - high mileage tires?
 

The best thing about owning my previous car (a 98 Camry) was that I could put long wearing tires/parts and not worry about them for so long, the 5 year reccomended time limit would pass before I ever wore through them.
Now that I am looking to get wheels and tires, I see some awesome stretched tires that I am considering, but want to know how much I will spend and if I can get decent mileage out of them.

Is there such a thing as a low-pro highmileage tire?
PS I would get 50k on the camry.

High Mileage tire in a low profile, and stretched fitment....

Unfortunately, there aren't very many options once you go past about a 40 series and below tire. 40k-50k would probably be the extent and in more common sizes (of low profile tires) there will be the occasional 60k tire.

It would probably help us out if you gave us and idea of what kind of rim fitment you plan on using with tire sizing options. At least then we would have an idea of what size you assist you with in making some recommendations. :)

Well, I'm not that familiar with wheels and tires but I'll give it a shot. I'm looking for 18" tires with about an inch over the rim. probobly 225/??/18. dont know what the middle # means. seems like most of the 235s are too fat. Would like some cushion without riding on balloon tires. No whitewalls please.

The first Number is the width, the 2nd number is a aspect ratio of the with (sidewall height) the 3rd number is the wheel/rim dia.

Tire mileage usually is based on the tread wear rating. Look for a higher treadwear and it will last longer. 50k might be asking a lot, especially on a stretched tire.
