If a car has been at a dealer for a month and not sold..is there an issue?
http://www.primeacura.com/used/Acura...58fcfc596a.htm
Looking at this one. Been there for a month now. All belts replaced ect..as well as the control arm bushings..which is another plus in my book. 13.5K Want to go down and look at it tomorrow before work. Carfax says it's 1 owner and has always been serviced at that dealer from day 1 which means i will have all the receipts Don't know about price either...90K...but the 105K service and compression bushings are done..could be the reason for the price |
quite possibly the ugly color combinations?

i like the outside...wish the interior was black |
No Nav, plood trim dash kit and a bit over priced; if interested try $12,000 - $12,500 which is more in line with the Private Sale Value for that car in very good condition.
|
^^^private value doesnt mean anything at a delaership!
i had the same car, and loved it but my interior was more tan instead of that color..perfect thing to do with that wood trim is wrap it in carbon fiber vinyl if your in to it, i did even my door panels.....pm me with your e-mail for pics |
No nav...........
|
if it's not too out of your way there's no harm in checking it out. Just because it has been sitting for a month doesnt mean much..the market's full of automatic TLs, and people might not see the online price, only the sticker price and turn away.
Camel interior is nice on ABP. if you put on some tints, it might make the outside appearance look better. |

Also don't forget that a 2005 model year is now 7 years old- many people don't want a used car that old and with that much mileage. That said, if the 105K service was done and it has 90K miles on it, and you can get it for a decent price, it could be a very good buy. For me, it is a little heavy on the plood.
|
Damn thats an ugly color combo, the wood looks so cheap!
|
the exterior color is a nice color. the interior with the wood trim is hideous. though i'm not a fan of faux wood trim in any car.
the lack of navi is not necessarily a deal breaker for all. it is for me. my requirements: navi and black interior which i have in both of my vehicles....and the accord. |
already got him started!......lol
|
Cars can sit on dealers lots for months.
|
Is that just a tan interior? It looks like a hit of orange

Light Tan (C) and Light Cream Ivory (D) were the interiors in '05 that resemble the color. Codes are on the driver's side door post.

I've dealt with this Prime a few times. Not sure about their sales department, but their service department is a bunch of morons. Told me I had to replace my entire wiring harness because one pin broke off on a connector
|
I got mine in December, 05 base TL, anthracite metallic with grey interior, no navi with 69,950 miles for $13,999...
20k less miles for basically the same price I am sick of black leather and black in general. My other car is all black inside, and the civic I had before that was all black interior. I wish mine had navi, cuz it literally makes the interior on a Tl if u ask me, but I needed a second car quick and with 70k miles I was SOLD.. Keep looking |

Sounds like every service department of every dealership LOL |
No Navigation :( :( :(
|
What's your price range? I've seen a bunch of TL's in our area in better condition for a little more money.

Looking to stay around 13K..really don't want to go any higher..maybe 13.5K...but it depends on what i get for my G35x..dealers keep telling me they will ony give my payoff amount..4K less than bluebook...a dealer can sell mine for 17.5K and they will give me thousands and thousands less... |
This one might be worth checking out if it has the 105k done...if not, that's good leverage on your part to drive the price down a little...

http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail...nal&listType=1 Looks good...but start new job in 2 weeks..have no time in the near future to go down to avon...that's a long treck for me |
why are you so inclined to trade the G35 in, opposed to just selling it privately?

BEcasue with the issues i am having..and it having a new engine..it will take a long time to sell..plus that and i will save 1,100 on sales tax..so it will come out to almost the same |
to OP, the $13 k price seem kinda high BUT consider the TB/WP already done (you just saved $1100). I would say that $13 is a dam good deal.
|
Avon's the next town over from where I live...Maybe I'll take a swing by on Saturday if I have some time and take a quick look at it.

if I were to get a TL I would choose that exterior color but with ebony interior. Nav is great if you travel in unfamiliar places. We have the nav only in the tsx. I say check it out.
|
Nothing is wrong with a car sitting at a dealer for a couple months. It happens. I think the reason this one was there for so long has to do with the colors and lack of navi. The car seems to have been well cared for and the services are done, but it's not the most attractive.
|
Also, most of that "wood" looks like stickers that can be removed. That way you would be down to the normal amount of "wood" trim.
|
1. If you are interested, you should go there and take the car to a trustworthy third party shop for inspection. In this way you find out whether it is good or bad. It's very difficult to tell from the website.
Sometimes a car with severe hidden issues can be sold fast, while a good car may stay in the lot for months because of excessive supply of that model in the area. 2. The two things I regret the most about my TL: a) I should have bought the manual version. This automatic transmission is weak and poorly programmed; 2) I should have bought a 350Z or Mazdaspeed6. :2cents: |
My 05 is the Red Redondo Pearl (RRP) with tan interior. Its not the orange looking tan and my windows are 35%. Helped the look of the car tremendously. Not sure what the book price is but navigation wasn't important to me at all. Hell I know where I am going "most" of the time...LOL. Sometimes a car will sit on the lot for awhile so I wouldn't be too worried about it. If YOU like it make an offer. My car doesn't have all the wood trim like that one does on the center console. I am sure you can order the aluminum trim like mine has and it would look much better. My doors are wood trimmed only. Personally I like the RRP because its different than silver, black and white. It has a richness to it that other colors don't.

Let me know if you do..would be awesome..if not..no worries..either way i want one...my dealer is looking at auction for me for an 05-06...told him last week..says he sees them..but not very often..around 13K that is under 100K |
I think better deals are out there. I picked up my 04 WDP, Navi, 54K for $14.7 at a dealer back in Nov. It was a single owner car, clean, and doesn't have that nasty color interior.:yuck:

Usually if a car's been sitting on a dealer lot for a month or longer, they'll be much more flexible when it comes to negotiating a price.
Just ask why. :dunno: That car looks in decent condition, but the colour combo would be a turn-off for me. Don't like the light interior on the TL, and IMO it clashes with the red. That red with a black interior or a black or white exterior with the tan would be more manageable. Like someone else said, the used car market is filled with these TLs. There are plenty around, so if there's anything that makes you raise your eyebrows even slightly, don't hesitate to move on to the next one, even with your time constraint. Good luck! EDIT: Why do you want to stay away from 2004s? First year anxiety? |
Prime dealerships usually move cars through pretty quickly. I went to look at an Infiniti at Prime about a year ago. I called them, told them I'd be there to see it that day, got there and some lady already had her paws on it. She bought it under pressure and turns out she couldn't pay for it so she had to return it. If they had only held the car for me like they said I would've bought it and KEPT it. Anyway, the car looks pretty nice however the timing belt is a little old. If you do want to buy it tell them to do the timing belt and I guarantee they will since it will only cost them a fraction of what they would charge you in 15,000 miles.
