CD player Problem. Stuck.

A while back, my cd player said that a cd slot was empty.. and allowed me to load a cd, when it was not empty, therefore jamming two cd's in a cd slot... now it won't play cds.. just displays error on screen. Is there a way to possibly take the cd out? Or do I just have to buy a new unit? Will take any input, thank you fellas. This is a 2003 TL.

You may be able to take the radio out and apart to get them out.

put the radio on cd mode, turn it off, hit the passanger side of the dash (beside the cd player) with some force, might have to try it a few times, turn it on, it will eventually work for long enough for you to get the cd's out. worked for me

oh wait, i didnt read the part where there is 2 cd's. are you 100% sure that there are 2 cd's in there? some, if not all had a 6cd in dash changer.

Yes I am sure. It is a 6 cd changer, and was not registering a cd was already in slot 3, so I went ahead and pushed load and it let me put one in while one was already in. I had a slight feeling as I was putting it in, that there was already one in there and then right after I put it in.. I saw it jammed and it said error. Would it be difficult to take the cd player apart to try and pull the disc out?

burned CDs tend to cause the issue, they are somewhat thicker than bought ones.

take it out, take it apart, get your cd's, toss the cd player in the garbage... like kidduce said... upgrade time

Thank you for your suggestions gentlemen. We are straying from the original question though... Is it possible to pull the cd's out and make it work again?

Madnesss 03-22-2011 08:59 PM

it is possible, but may be costly, if you live in canada i can send you contact info to where you can get it repaired. it may break again thoough. your choice...

I am saying me, myself, pulling out the unit, taking out some screws and prying the cd's out. Would that be something I should even look at doing?

Madnesss 03-22-2011 11:37 PM

you can do it yourself, just take your time when you take the cd player apart, there are some small springs (that absorbe the shock from bumps in the road) that hold the part that actually spins and reads the cd in place. make sure you put everything back together properly. but, even after you get it out, you might still have the same problem.
if you think about it, you cant break it anymore then it already is. might as well try to fix it.
