Jon2000's 2008 Acura TL Type S - ASM
Hi!
I picked up my new to me 2008 Acura TL Type S 5AT in ASM on July 4, 2012 and have actively reading on this site for upgrade ideas. I came from a modified 2007 Mazdaspeed3 so I had some basic ideas on what to do.
July was a busy month:
- 15% window tint w/moleskin
- roof spoiler
- A-Spec M/T suspension kit
- A-Spec skirt kit
- TSW Nurburgring matte gun metal 18x8 +35 wheels (custom painted center caps) with Hankook Ventus V12 tires in 245/40/18
- 3M Scotchprint wrapped radio surround trim pieces
- OEM trunk liner
- 35W 5000K xenon fogs
- Nokya 2500K yellow DRL bulbs
- LED license plate bulbs
This week I'm picking up:
- WeatherTech digital floor liners
- G2 gloss black caliper paint for the rear calipers and front/rear hubs
Hopefully these pics works ...thanks for looking.

Looks great. You might've just convinced me to add di-noc to my console trim pieces...

Very nice, I'm happy to see your setup since it's exactly the wheels I wanted to get for my ASM Type S. Where did you get them ? In country or from the US ?

Thanks guys! The rims were purchased from Discounttiredirect.com at: http://www.discounttiredirect.com/di...w=8&vid=012180 ..the centre caps were painted dark grey to cover the chrome.
I just paid hst at the border to bring them across to Canada.
Recent updates include:
- painted rear calipers and front/rear hubs with G2 black gloss caliper paint
- open ended tuner lug nuts and locks rather than closed ended
- wrapped the centre bar of the front grille in 3M Scotchprint 1080 carbon fibre
- installed red LED strips in the footwells to compliment the stock underdash LED's
- changed all interior lights to LED / SMD
- new replica TL Type S wheels and Michelin X-ICE snow tires for the winter (including ball seat to acorn adapters for the lugs)
On order:
- dark smoked 1/2 tints (only cover the turn signal) for the headlights since I don't want to mess with opening the lights.

Below are a few updated pics. It was an overcast dark day so not the best conditions. I'll probably still get the headlights properly cleared next year and upgrade the lenses. I'm happy for now. Winters are going on in a couple days.
Thanks for looking!

Nice car fellow Canadian. I want to get an aspec rear bumper for my 08 WDP. Mine is the base TL and I don't mind the exhaust tips BUT I don't love them. I need to fit 4 humpable pipes as Acura604 aptly put it.
Anybody does the aspec have enough flange or do I need a type S bumper. I like to add that little spoiler lip as well. I will wait for spring time to do all that. I also want to do that 3M Scotchprint deal you did. Where do I get that?
All of my suspension mods are done and my car looks quite nice. I still would want a rear bumper like that to fit the humpable pipes mentioned above.
Thanks and awesome car again!

Here's a couple pics showing the smoked headlight corners at night and also my Tobacco Road eBay replica Type S rims with Michelin winter tires and painted center caps.

The Nurburgings remind me of the Type S wheels.
