Steering wheel column cover(top) removal
Anybody know how to remove the top of the steering wheel column cover? I know there is 3 screws that hold the bottom but I can't move the top. Please assist.

Once you take out the screws from the bottom..... (I thought there were 4) push the sides of the bottom half inward. This will unclip the two halves from each other. Completely remove the bottom half before you take off the top. Removing your lower dash will mike this alot easier for you. It's only a few more screws.
Good luck and have fun!!

No I haven't gotten it off yet I was just questioning you that there are a few more screws after the 4 are removed. I just haven't tried it since you told me about this.

There's only 4 screws on the bottom. But like uncald4 said, there are 6 retaining tabs on the sides. You have to gently push the side to seperate upper & lower columb covers. Good luck..

You don't have to unscrew anything. The screws on the bottom of the steering column only hold the bottom cover on. the top part simply snaps into the bottom portion of the column trim.
To remove the top cover, all you have to do is simply pull up. Make sure you adjust the tilt all the way down so you have enough room to do so. That's it!

I have to push the sides in first right? Should I use much force or be real careful?

You dont have to be too harsh, if u get the screw driver in where the clip is and lightly push and in wedge it up you should release one of the clips and just go around. I think if you just remove one side it is good enough to help release the other side.

I knew sooner or later that question would come up. I'm doing it for a cool mod that I'll show pics of when I'm done. I already bought a replacement top cover in case I mess it up. I'll show it when I'm done.
