2007 TL-S Battery (Die Hard Platinum vs. Others)
I have read a lot of posts about the Optima and even the AutoZone one, but Sears has a DieHard Platinum P-5 with a claimed 740 CCAs. Anyone have any experience with this one?

Brian, last week, I got my battery replaced, under warranty, by my Acura dealership. Did you buy your car from a dealership?

Yeah, check with Acura first to see if they'll replace it. Otherwise, I got a DieHard gold and it is rock solid after two severe North Dakota winters!! Very happy with it.

I would check with the dealer to see if its 100% covered. If not go with the DieHard Platinum battery. I purchased it after my Acura battery crapped out on me. I went with the Platinum because I also have a system my car, and it has a 4 yr replacement warranty.

It's 4 years. I just looked on Acura's owners website for 2007+ for full replacement. After that it is prorated. And per the Service Manager, this was just changed in the past year.
edit: I just called the dealer, and they said 4 years on all Acura Batteries and it's not prorated. After 4 years it is.

For 2004, it's 2 years, then prorated.
For the 2007 (and 2009), it's 3 years (unless Acura has amended it) full replacement and then prorated to 100 months. Check your warranty books, pg 32: 2007 warranty book, 2009 warranty book:
Warranty Coverage
During the first 36 months
(3 years) of service, a defective
replacement battery will be replaced
at no cost for the new battery, labor,
or installation.
For the remaining 64 months
(5 years and 4 months), you receive
a credit toward the purchase of the
battery. This credit is based on the
then-current retail price:
• Months 0 to 36: 100 percent
• Months 37 to 45: 60 percent
• Months 46 to 55: 50 percent
• Months 56 to 65: 40 percent
• Months 66 to 75: 30 percent
• Months 76 to 85: 20 percent
• Months 86 to 95: 10 percent
• Months 96 to 100: 5 percent
The battery is warranted for the time
remaining in the 100 months of the
Replacement Battery Limited
Warranty. No cash reimbursement
will be made. You are responsible

Yeah, I deleted that post. It is 4 years, pg 25. The 3 yr is for a replacement battery.
They should give the OP a new battery for no charge. However, the replacement battery will have only a 3 yr full replacement warranty. Still a pretty good deal. I believe Acura has switched battery vendors and the newer batteries are better.

Thanks everyone for the advice.
My battery is not dead yet, but all the electronics, heated seats (I have lumbar issues so I use year round), and plugging in all of my other stuff, I have had issues from time to time. The DieHard had the largest claimed CCAs of anything I could find with 15 minutes of browsing. I was just wondering whether anyone else had any experience with it.
It is a steep price, but I have had to jump it a few times in a couple of years in the cold windy weather in Quakertown, PA. I know that I leave things on occasionally that I shouldn't (like high seat heat).
I am pulling the battery to test it tomorrow so I may go the dealer route first. I am pretty sure that I need a starter but want to go through all the steps first and checking the battery is step one. I couldn't get it jumped this time and I definitely have power (12.9 volts measured). I pushed started it yesterday and drove it for hours. No turning of the starter.

Have you loosened, cleaned and then re-tightened you battery cables? Your problem could be as simple as that.
