How to Remove the Center speaker? 3G Garage #F-079

I've asked this question in the DIY thread for the center speaker rattle but no one replied. The squeeking noise is getting worse and I want to fix the problem. So I am asking again in a new thread.

"My speaker rattles as well. Unfortunately, when I try to remove the speaker, it is very very difficult. I put a screw driver in on the right side and try to lift the speaker. It doesn't budge. From the pictures, it looks like I have to release the clips from the bezel. is this what I am aiming for when inserting the screw driver?

Am I also affraid that if I lift up on the speaker, the clips will fall off into the vehicle. I have seen those types of clips before and they don't retain all too well.

I must be missing something. Any help will be appreciated."

you can actually use a flathead screwdrive and pry up one side of the speaker and then slowly pry up the rest. there are NO clips that'll fall .. it's held in there strictly w/ tension, the speaker grill being slightly oversized compared w/ the soft, vinyl-esque material of the dashboard. You'll be fine, just go slow and it'll pop right out.

Here's the scans. I was waiting for an excuse to post these, so here they are.

Ron A,
Can you post pages on how to remove the rear deck, and the door panels? WOW, that would be great!

Both links are for the front doors. Neither show the rear deck removal.
I appreciate the help! Thanks!

Edit by mod Ron A: Sorry about that. I put the wrong link in for the rear deck thread. It is correct now.

I thought there are clips. Please take a look at the pictures posted in the thread below by kefler. It clearly shows clips. Does the 2005 no longer uses clips?

Thanks.

there are clips in a 2005, they just don't fall off the speaker like some clips do when removed

There are definitely clips in there. I know...one of mine fell in. Do it slowly and carefully.
