Radio Error Code

Turned on the car yesterday, the radio display said "Enter Code." After 10 incorrect guesses the display changed to "Code Error E." I called the dealership and they said there is a 5 digit code that should be in the glove box with the owner's manual. (I know, I should have called/researched first). Sure enough, the code was on a small piece of paper in the glove box, but now the car will not accept any more code retries. The dealer said I will have to disconnect the battery to reset it. They are not sure why this happened, he said maybe because I left a light on. I am 99.9% sure I didn't leave any lights or anything on. Besides, even if I did, why would it cause this to happen? Any ideas?

I found out that the PDF version of the owners manual is much easier to search and navigate than the hard copy. I was able to find the information below. Sounds like the service tech I spoke with at the dealership was half right. After disconnecting my battery, I was still having the same issue. They left out the part where you have to leave the radio system on for 1 hour before trying again if locked out.

Your vehicle’s audio system may
disable itself if it is disconnected
from electrical power for any reason.
To make it work again, you must
enter a specific five-digit code with
the preset buttons. Because there
are hundreds of number
combinations possible from the five
digits, making the system work
without knowing the exact code is
nearly impossible.
You should have received a radio
code card that lists your audio
system’s code and serial numbers. It
is best to store this card in a safe
place at home. In addition, you
should write the audio system’s
serial number in this owner’s manual.
If you lose the card, you must obtain
the code number from your dealer.
To do this, you will need the audio
system’s serial number.
If you make a mistake entering the
code, do not start over; complete the
five-digit sequence, then enter the
correct code. You have ten tries to
enter the correct code. If you are
unsuccessful in ten attempts, you
must then leave the system on for 1
hour before trying again.
The system will retain your AM and
FM presets even if power is
disconnected.
If you have a My Acura account, you
can retrieve the anti-theft code
online.
If your vehicle’s battery is disconnected
or goes dead, or the radio
fuse is removed, the audio system
will disable itself. If this happens,
you will see ‘‘ENTER CODE’’ in the
frequency display (on the center
display on models with navigation
system) the next time you turn on
the system. Use the preset buttons
to enter the five-digit code. The code
is on the radio code card included in
your owner’s manual kit. When it is
entered correctly, the radio will start
playing.

What bothers me is that in this day and age Honda still uses Radio codes. Like who is really going to steal the Radio and or the Navi system out of the car? Kinda liek why you see people still put the club on there car and it's a push button start. I feel like leaving a note, if they want your car they will just put in on a flat bed truck and take it. And if they really wanted your radio they will go through every single number sequence until they get it right.

Now I know if I want to steal an Acura/Honda radio I can probably find the code in the glovebox...right where I keep mine. haha.

What bugs me is not knowing why the radio started prompting me for the code. The only thing that changed was that morning I set the clock to reflect daylight savings time. The radio worked fine until I turned the car off.
