Handsfreelink fix for me. My issue may help others

I have a 2007 tls

I noticed the hfl did not work kept saying bootin up.
I took it put and unplugged it. And it still said booting up.

So. I read one of the possible fixes is to pop it I'm the oven and bake at 385* for 8 minutes. I let it cool down pop it back in still did not work.

As I wiggled the plug a bit the Bluetooth randomly work intermittently.

I took it out again and on closer inspection of the power plug to the pcb board. It looked like one of the prongs did not have as much sodder as the other connection prongs. I twisted the prong to the side a bit and the connection was established.

I think the board heats up quite a bit and loose its connectivity.
This was the last prong of the connector. I'm sure it holds power. I should have put a meter to it to confirm. But was happy it was working.

I hope this help others. It seems like a crappy thing to replace for a couple hundred bucks. Acura tech package my ass.

Just popped my HFL into the oven too, and gained some function back. My phone was able to link up with HFL but whenever it connects its has a lot of static and will not accept any commands. Pressed both buttons to diagnose and it said HFL needs to be serviced. I'll pop it back into the oven tomorrow and check the solder too. Thanks!

(Generally speaking) LOL there is a lot of information in this forum. If people would just take the time to search properly (best use Google); you can learn a lot of new things plus something that may help you down the line.

I don't understand why you guys are doing this the ghetto way and not just using a soldering iron to fix the loose solder joint, if that is indeed the problem. But btw summer heat in the car is nowhere near the temperature it takes to melt solder so I'm not sure where you are getting that theory from.
To do it right, I recommend just buying a new module, it's only about $160 and super easy to swap out at home.

^Very true! But, if you don't have the funds, and still want to try to see if it works, it's worth the effort! Mine has been working for over a couple months now! So I essentially saved the $160. I don't use it much, but still...

I think part of the issue is spotting where, and how many of, the solder joints are loose-- baking appears to close up the solder on all the small problematic joints, even those that are difficult to see.

IIRC, one of the members here tried soldering, but couldn't revive his HFL-- perhaps because he couldn't/didn't spot and repair all of the bad solder joints.
