Things you miss if you trade/sell your TL
I had a 2005 TL and traded it in yesterday on a 2010 Cadillac CTS Performance AWD which I really like. But, less than 24 hours later I already miss 3 things about the TL
- Fuel economy. I was averaging about 22 all around with the TL. So far, doing similar driving for about a 100 miles now I am getting about 17.5 with the CTS
- Performance. I noticed it as soon as I stepped on it to get on the highway. Even though the CTS is rated 304 hp which is more than a 10% increase over the TL.
- Automatic change of side mirror when putting in car in reverse

I'd miss the looks first and foremost. I think the design has aged well (or, not aged at all, really). I'd miss the refinement.
Over this past winter, I toyed with trading in the TL-S for something with more cargo capacity and that was more capable of driving in snowy / poor conditions (had my eye on the Honda Ridgeline). As the weather is beautiful now, it's not on my mind...but come winter again..

Still, it sounds like you got a good ride, especially since it's AWD.

Yes, the mirrors were still working. The power door locks were getting quirky during the last year. 2 times the doors would not lock. First time it lasted for a week, then they the remote door lock worked again. A few weeks ago it happened again. They did not automatically lock when I reached the specified speed, would not lock with the remote, and would not lock from the lock buttons inside the car. Two days later, they were working again.

The CTS is a much heavier car. It feels more solid when you close the doors and trunk. I am sure this is the reason for the performance and fuel economy issues. Funny though, a lot of the features on it were already on the 05 TL. Like universal home remote, driver info center, blue tooth phone capability

I started having intermittent issues with mine as well. I'm not sure of the wiring, but after the drivers door lock actuator was replaced, I had no more problems!.

Yup:
2010 Cadillac CTS Performance AWD weight to HP ratio = 3960lbs/304hp = 13.03 lbs. per hp
2005 Acura TL base weight to HP ratio 3570/258hp = 13.84 lbs. per hp.
On paper, the CTS wins, although the difference is negligible (6%). Plus, I'd be willing to be the powerband on the CTS favors low end rather than Acura's high end.
The CTS-V on the other hand........

The only thing I truly miss going from my TL to my Tacoma is the stoplight wiper feature. Tacoma has everything else and more.
Took it on a fairly long road trip this weekend with 3 other people and I used 4 more gallons of fuel compared to my TL on the same journey. Using regular pretty much keeps my fuel costs the same.

I'd miss a lot about this car. There isn't a car out there right now that I'd be willing to replace it with.

The only newer American car that has caught my eye is the new Impala. But I still think the new GM cars have that cheap plastic interior and exterior look. I rode in a rental 2013 Chevy Malibu and it looked decent but it felt so damn cheap inside. And it had some Eco mode thAT stopped power to the engine when you came to a standstill so every time we stopped, the engine would stutter and shake. Haha this car was so crappy. I really think my next car will be Japanese, whether it's Nissan, Honda, or Subaru.

I actually miss the tilting mirror in reverse. BRZ doesn't have it

Funny thing is that you need it to tilt because it's so small. Our Camry's mirror doesn't tilt, but I can see just as well. Same with many other cars I've driven.

I traded in my 2008 TL and purchased a CPO 2011 TL and I definitely missed the larger compartments in my 08.

what is this exactly?

If you mean the "stoplight wiper feature":
When the wipers are on one of the intermittent settings and you come to a stop, the wipers automatically drop down to the longest interval. When you remove your foot from the brake to get going again, the wipers automatically wipe once, no matter how soon that is after the previous wipe.

Why wouldn't they be? If they're stuttering, they just need to be greased.
Simply dividing the curb weight by the advertised brake horsepower doesn't tell the whole story though. GM has had a tendency to underrate in the past, but if it's making a true 306, that AWD is eating up 20-25% of it. I wouldn't be surprised if it's only making 230-235 at the wheels, and even though the TL's 5AT robs more power than it should, it's still good for 210 at the wheels. Makes things pretty close.

WAIT! The side mirrors turn down on an Acura?!?!? Is this for all TLs or just for the newer years?
