2007 Acura TL Type S Navi Diagrams

Hey guys,

Can anyone share service manual pages/section for Navi system including troubleshooting and diagrams ? I have issues with power feeding illumination of Navi console switches. Both fuse boxes are double checked and ok but I get not power delivered onto frame of circuit boards of bulb sockets. Alldata does not show connector A (22P) which I suspect has been used to deliver power to the illumination circuits of the Navi system but it does not fit by color or sequence to what is on the car.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I have the service manual but it's thousands of pages. Probably couple hundred alone for the navigation.

Are you sure it's not just a bad bulb? That's very common on TL's

How r u doing Paperboy
Thanks for your reply. I know about bulbs as I just spent like a million on them. Lots of bulbs went south, but I replaced all of the display unit bulbs and still nada. I hoped that Alldata has some sense making info - no luck. Their diagrams and pinout for Display unit 22 port connector A does not have the same colors or positions. I am screwed without knowing where the power feeds into this kaka...

Can you print info pdf just section for Navi from the manual. I have two other manuals but not 2007.

Thanks

Gents,

Couple of hours of brain war and I got forward to some degree. (I guess). I am sharing it since maybe some of you already experience this problem. (or related)

I was able to identify connector A on Navi display unit as one feeding power to display unit. Wire Black is ground and checks good. Wire # 6 is Red negative Illum. and should have battery voltage with lights on. Zero with lights off. It fails as I get only 4.82 vlts. Second is wire Red/Blue negative Illum. and should have battery voltage with lights on. It actually has bit short volts of battery when brightness regulator is at lowest setting. If I need to chase the Red wire to connector C511 I need to take the dashboard off to get there. (nightmare).

I attached some piece which appears may bring some value.

All other lighting dims and works normally. All bulbs are brand new.
Does any one knows if replacement of Brightness controller will help ?
Do we know how can I verify that the brightness controller switch works per specs ? Can this problem be related to issues with Power supply Controller or Gauge controller on this car ?

I appreciate sharing some thoughts guys -

Thank you

Are you sure the wire getting 4.xx volts isn't a grounding dimmer? They will start at ~12v @ full brightness and decrease as you dim the illumination.

I'm having the same issue with the button lights, but getting help from a buddy of mine. Would anyone be willing to share the pin out diagram of the navi system? If I could find this I feel confident my buddy could the layout. As I have been chasing the lights around as they would blow then one morning the entire navi system was dark, minus the screen and green portion of the dual, defrost, rear defrost, and re-circulate status light. Or even if anyone has the service manual as a PDF who would be willing to email it to me, treyenfinger@hotmail.com. Many thanks!

Yes Sir -

Replaced 10 out of 12 bulbs and it stopped working.
I doubled checked all bulbs including specs for each of the bulbs types, voltage and wattage as well. No change.

I think so. Red wire # 6 is actually illum negative and it should be battery voltage with lights on. Wire Red and Blue I think should feed from dimmer and voltage gets to be regulated from like 2.x v. to about 11.90 depending upon brightness controller.

What do you guys think ?

Thanks much

That's it guys... All options exhausted. I found the manual. Plenty if diagnostic info and diagrams on Navi but limited info on illumination circuits. I found one of the inputs and it circuit open on Navi display feed connector. Fixed it and it still does not work. I believe the that circuit board inside of the Navi display unit which feeds Illum to drivers and passenger sides Climat control switches is damaged causing it open as base connectors of all Navi display bulbs are open and do not show any voltage of ground. Fuck this cashing a needle. I need to come up with separate bulb feed and create some alternative solution. I hate to chase the buttons at night. Nice job Sumitomo. Almost each fucking bulb in this car is different wattage or voltage and costs like a 3 other brands. If any of you guys need 2007 manual let me know. I spent fucking month to find this thing. Over and out

Take care -

Netgun777, if you don't mind sharing the manual, I would like a copy. I had purchased one online, but the navi section was missing. What would be the easiest for you to send it to me? My email is treyenfinger@hotmail.com. I have been looking for an affordable complete manual for sometime now too! Thanks!

Sure, that should be no problem but we you need to check what is the maximum size of the file your email can accept. In the case this file is too big I will send you at least Navi section including Climat and Audio parts which get integrated. Let me know -

Take care

Best I've been able to find out largest file size is 10mb. Thank you so much! Have you had any luck with getting your button lights working again?

Hi SouthernRbl

Sorry for delays on response. It was just too busy. I tried several tricks to cut down the size of the PDF of the actual service manual but it is hard to do from almost 700 mb file. I printed section addressing Navi and Audio from it so it becomes smaller. It is still 18 mb file. If you have an email which will accept this file, let me know. Gmail accepts 20 mb so see if you may get one. As soon as I get the way to send it to you it will be on the way.

As far as my diagnostics went, I check several times to confirm that the actual problem in my case is on the Navi display internal circuitry. Since it actual connectors get all the feed properly I checked if I can feed the circuits directly upon the light bulb circuit and it works well.
I decided to cross connect ILL negative and positive wires including feed from voltage regulator circuits from Audio connector (wires side connects) directly into three wires on climate control connector wire side as well and it works well. Problem is actually between connector of Navi display unit and output of climate connectors leading to base of climate control switches on both sides of the navi unit. This is where the open is so no way to fix it without swapping or repairing the Navi unit which can be around $ 250.00 at the lowest I found. It retail for like crazy 2 k chunk of money. I am not willing to spend 2 k for lighting in this car so I went with 20 min cross connect of the wires I mentioned. If you need exact info on what wires to cross connect, let me know I will find my notes from the diagram and notes.

Take care.

I had forgotten I do have a gmail also, SouthernRbl@gmail.com. Thank you so much for working on that for me!

If you don't mind and have the means to send me any notes I'm sure everything will help! Hoping to pull mine apart again this weekend or next and maybe, hopefully play around enough until my buddy and I can get it figured out, or it break into a million pieces! So frustrating!
