Blower Motor Not Working...Wait, please read
Hello all. This is my first post on these forums. I've been reading up on many posts over the past couple of months and tried most of the suggestions to fix my problem. Unfortunately nothing has worked yet. So, I am reaching out to you.
2001 TL blower motor is not working. Here are some things I've already done:
1. Removed the old burned harness connected to the motor and resistor and replaced it with the one obtained from the dealer ($13).
2. Purchased and installed a new resistor
3. Checked the fuses and relays to ensure they are working. Used a multimeter for accuracy. All working (relay even clicks when the key is turned)
4. Connected the blower motor directly to the battery (works and blows hard)
5. Test the controls on the dash (works, temperature moves up and down)
I have no idea what else to check. It seems everything is suppose to work fine with the replacement parts I purchased.
Is there anything that I'm missing or that you would suggest I try? Also, is there a way to custom wire it to make it work...for example use an external (4-level) switch, some relays and resistors to make it work?
All help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Scott

I had the same problem when I bought my TL in mid january, the harness part where it connects to the blower motor was melted, I replaced mine and it worked for me.
Before I found out the problem, I use to tap it from the bottom and it was working for a while, maybe try that as a temporary thing!
