So the window visor is a pretty standard feature on all cars, BUT on the TL they actually slide out for "extra protection" from the sun. pretty nifty acura

I know what you mean... I have had my TL - S for eight months, and am still finding things that I did not know about...

the little thing i just noticed was that when you open the moon roof, it retracts the inner shade, so you cant close that shade with the moon roof open.

Noticed it the day i got mine. But only since the vehicle i traded in did this as well so i tried pulling it right away to see if it did the same thing. It is pretty nice.

I'll have to try that this afternoon. My GF hates the sun and is always picking up a map from the passenger side map pocket to keep the sun off of her.

I wrote about this little-known feature several years ago on this website. This feature is not mentioned in my '04 owner's manual.

I don't remember anything that slides out either.

Once someone tells us what it is or shows pictures, we'll feel really dumb =(

I only realized two days ago that to tilt the moonroof, you just had to push(as opposed to sliding it up/down) the moonroof button. I always wondered how people were doing it... haha.

About the visors, all you have to do is pull the visor down then slide the visor to the right for the drivers side and to the left for the passengers side.

Just pop the visor out of the clip, then pull the visor so it pulls out of the rod-- each visor can be swiveled and extended along the rod to better block sunlight coming through the side window.

Just purchased 04 TL last weekend and found out you can program the keyless remote to memorized/programmed driver settings (driver 1 & 2) like temp control, side mirror & seat positions all activated with press of unlock button as you approach car.

lol i thought the same thing, or like some visors have a smaller visor-esque thing that pulls out of the bigger visor....but lo and behold i went and looked at this and you can indeed pull the visor out further!

good find! i remember when i discovered the alternate location for the coin holder... good times lol

You guys (especially new owners) need to immediately go to the 3G Garage (now called the "Service Center", for whatever reason) here:
https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-2004-2008-93/3g-tl-service-department-aka-garage-questions-answers-check-here-first-553557/

and look up this specific thread:
https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=73974

Then look at all of the other threads there. That should keep you busy for a while!

lolol. I just clicked that thread. I'm post #7. I posted back on November 21, 2003... almost exactly 1 month after I bought my '04 TL. And of course why did I post? Becauase I had no idea about the visor slideout functionality.

I bet most of you guys didn't know that if you put the wipers on the first click and come to a full stop, then let off the wipers will go right away.

Aha! For years I have wondered why I get a irregular wipe intervals on the slow intermittent setting. This must be it. I'm going to have to check this out to be sure the next time I'm in the car.

Guys, there is an old thread that lists damn near everything that the 3G TL's do that you won't easily find in the manual. It's going to take a good bit of searching, but the thread is incredibly comprehensive-many, many pages worth. I'll try to find it, but it's there for you-try to find it with the Search Engine, if you feel adventurous.

Yep, that was posted in the tips & tricks thread referenced earlier. btw no need to go through the whole thread, somebody compiled every tip towards the end of the thread.

WHAT?!?! I didnt know this, pretty neat I guess. I don't know if you guys like this feature (which I can tell from other threads, that most of you don't), but if you get out of the car fast enough, the door closes behind you, and you can walk away from it all smooth like Haratio Caine

there are many good operating tips in the owner book for the traction and brake systems- things you really want to know before pushing the car at all- especially in wet-ice-snow conditions

I know its 100 outside now but in a few months~

everyone needs to register as owner with acura care 1-800-382-2238x5 usa cars
canada number is 1-888- 9 acura 9
they can ck if any OPEN RECALLS- freebies you need to get done.
that system sends out recall notices so it needs a current owner adddress
need cars VIN for both of these

also register on acura.com/ owner link- lots of info plus should be able to download an owner manual for your car there, has place to log your maitenance and store the radio and security codes
they moved the free manual link and Im not certain to where~

I noticed the sun visor thing very early on when I got my TL back in 2004 and the thing I've noticed about it since then is how annoying it is in other cars when the visors do not slide out in that manner.

I knew I had to know about this. I finally know what you're talking about, and yes, it is useful when the sun is glaring right at you through the D/S window.

This is one of my favorite things about the tl. I will never understand why all car's visors don't do this. I seriously use this feature 6 out of 7 days I drive my car!

^^^I remember my 01 maxima had a plastic insert that you could pull out to block the additional sunlight not covered by the visor it self.
