are the brake lights ALL working? The brake light switch failure can cause what you describe. Have someone hold the pedal down while you check - each taillight one and the ones in the center light on rear deck
Any warning lights on?

Under the shifter base are 3 microswitches that operate the system, no cables are used!
If liquid got spilled in the cup holder it leaks right down to the switches and corrodes them--big problems can result

Acura designed the safety lock override to be operated by the ignition key!
Insert and depress lock- put in Nuetral and start car

Please dont use all CAPS- Its considered shouting and is harder to read for some of us, thanks

there is 1 brake light switch at the pedal that operates the lights
Those fail or sometimes are just loose connection

There are 3 electric micro-switches for shifting that can be damaged by spilling soda or water in the cup holder or shifter area
They dont cost too much but its a PITA getting to them
A possible fix if you had a spill is CRC electrical contact cleaner and a long straw (comes with), spray liberally down inside the shifter
The switches are located under a plastic piece so you can't reach them directly- have to let it drip and hope~

would everything be link if there was liquid spilled in the cup holder is there some kind of hole in the cup holder and would this problem effect everything causing my shifter to lock up and all the brake lights going out or could it be both things that the connection under the pedal is loose and 3 connectors under the shift pad are corroded and lock my shifting up

Also with the crc electrical cleaner should where exactly should i spray at should I spray in the shift release where you can push a key down to release the shifter anybody in here an acura mechanic and know how hard of a job this is and cost in Pennsylvania?? once again I appreciate everybodies input

First check the brake fuse. If its ok, Just buy a new brake switch. It has nothing to do with any thing spilling in the cup holders. This has happened to many. There is DIY on it and it takes all of 20 min to replace.

That is the reason your stuck in park. The same switch that tells the brakes to come on is the switch that tells the shifter you have applied the brake to allow it to come out of park.

What else would you use but the correct size wrench? You may be able to get a crescent wrench on it to remove it.
