Well, got back from service manager.

Turns out honda does have a program to do this, but it does NOT work on 2005 navi systems as they changed something in the firmware on the unit.

Oh well, was worth a shot...

Will it work for 04 TLs? If he could be more specific, maybe some of the people here can see what he is talking about and get their hands on it and make it available for everyone.

It may, im not sure... Mine is an 05tl so it wont work...

Its for Honda, but it MAY work for acura also... My thing is I am sure if someone can actualy get hands on it we can modify it up...

But its not like I can just hold it for a day and copy it... lol

Is there anyone here who can send me the navi.exe file after it is extracted from the bin? I wanted to disassemble it and see whats inside. I would grab it off my own DVD but my car is in NC in storage while I am in CA for a summer internship! Thanks ahead of time.

Sorry if I am asking questions that have been answered already, but when you get rid of the NAG screen, what gets replaced?

Is it the screen with the Acura logo on top of a pic of the planet?

OR is it the screen with a whole bunch of text on there that has an OK button in the lower right corner?

If its the screen with the text, does it also bypass the OK button?

Also, has anyone figured out a way to get other apps onto the system?

Has anyone here actually looked up who Bysin is? Apparently, his name is Ben Kittridge, AKA hacker Bysin. He's most well known for his spamming program that businesses used to send us that wonderful spam and email phishing scams!

jic other ppl get the same "problems" as I do:
1. I can't get rid of the nag screen. Still get yellow text on black background, with the OK button. I can live.
2. When using the GUI 1.5 version of dumpnavi, I have to uncheck "nag screen", but also, I ALWAYS have to hit "Modify" twice. The first time, it always says "invalid XPI file" or something to that effect. When I click it again, it says it is successful. Kinda strange.
3. When I load my image, all I do is this:
a. I eject the original DVD navi, and immediately put in my burned CD
b. go back to the car, and hold down the 3 buttons (map, menu, cancel). I usually see "DVD read error" in the navi, but it still goes to the version screen.
c. Hit "version", hit "load". Get the "loading new data. do not turn off engine" message, and all loads fine.
d. once done, put back original Acura navi DVD.

I've changed my image a few times, and this is all I do. Seems easier than the README instructions (no running back and forth).

Oh and thanks to shotcaller88 for the bitmap(s).

You do what you gotta do to make money. I can totally see where he is coming from. I used to make fake IDs to help pay for my TL. I just wanted it THAT bad. Although my parents could have easily forked over the money without a scratch to their bank accounts, they wouldnt. I dont take no for an answer so I used my skills as a licensed professional graphic designer to make near verbatim fake I.D.s for a good portion of the highschools in my town. I got caught by the but I hid everything very well and they only got me for having one template, and the equiptment to make them. no actual IDs. I got it very easy with some community service and a fine. Needless to say, my parents were very dissappointed at me and I got in some trouble. If I wasnt as smart about it, I could have easily recieved prison time for a felony. But I can totally see where he is coming from. One of my bestfriends from when I was a little kid just got busted with 100,000+ tabs of Ecstasy. His family lives in a house that makes my house look like a 2 story dorrito bag but he didnt see a cent of it, so he did what he did.

Uh no...nothing Bysin did was illegal. Selling a mass mailer to spammers isn't illegal. The software can also be used for legitimate reasons other than sending out spam. So no, selling fake IDs, which is illegal any way you look at it, isn't like writing a program that can be legally sold to different types of users. There's absolutely nothing "smart" in anything you did, let alone brag about it and compare yourself to someone who is genuinely talented. You might as well have just gone and robbed a bank and said, you gotta do what you gotta do to make money.

I made some ones i think people would like including one with a ff7 theme to it but i cant seem to get the file size down any suggestions on how to do this without getting rid of color they are now 330k and too big of file size for the mod

You try making an I.D. and you tell me how easy it is. Its a very hard intricate process and takes skill to make a perfect I.D. I didnt get photoshop ceritification when I was 16 to be called "talentless". WTF did U drive when you were 16? Thats what i thought.

Ok everyone... I spent about 10 hours on Saturday taking apart the entire dash of my '05 TL I even disassembled the electronics down to board level... I took all the high quality pictures you will need to understand the front end electrical systtem of the car ... Here's my problem.... I can take apart my car and put it back together again in a day but I cant figure out how to post the pictures for you all to see... lol... Give me some help and you will be rewarded with some great pics... later all...

so i followed the directions step by step, but whenever i try to load the new disc, my nav unit wont read it. i think i my be burning the disc wrong. is everyone just putting the files straight to a dvd?

Yes I am sure....lol... I am one of those both working on software and a hardware research into how the Navigation system works. I found the microcontroller where the system is controlled from. The OS source code can be downloaded from the controller and researched. I am not sure I want to go that far myself just quite yet. I would rather find a software patch.
