I have a 2001, and I replaced my back dash with a new custom built dash that have mid to high range speakers in them.... plus my bass in the trunk (but that doesn't have to do with this). I just didn't like the Bose speaker, and needed more. So I had the custom dash put in and in doing so, they had to take out the trunk torque rods because of speaker magnets, so whenever I open my trunk, I have to hold it up because of no torque on the hinges.....

My question is, has anyone heard of somebody installing trunk struts like those that come on the old legends, into a TL, or have done it and know what steps I would need to take, I want my convenience of just opening my trunk back.
