It's best to replace both the cap and base because of fitment issues, but some just use glue/epoxy to adhere the new cap to the old base.
I believe base removal is only 1 bolt, but to access the bolt, the door panel and a few interior parts, e.g. regulator, latch assembly needs to be moved.
Never did one so do some research before ripping the door panel off.
