06 6spd Man. Alarm goes off for no reason

Yesterday we were at a friends house for lunch and we heard a car alarm going off. I looked outside and noticed it was mine. I reset it via the Key fob. About 15 minutes later it went off again. This time I went out checked that all the doors and the trunk were locked and then reset it again. We left shortly after.

When I got home I parked the car on the street so I could blow out the driveway. After I was home for about 20 min it did the same thing again.

I backed it into our garage pulled the negative battery cable and turned on the heat in the garage, thinking one of the switches had frozen. After I was done with the driveway I plugged the battery back in and had no problems all night or all day at work.

However I just went to get groceries and as I was checking out I noticed it was in the parking lot going off again. I reset it with the fob and continued. Again it went off after about 10 minutes.

When I got home I did the same as I did last night, heat on, pulled the battery cable.

Any idea what is going on?

Hey.. Any idea if having a faulty battery could be causing this?

I wend out to look around at a few things (switches etc.) and I noticed the green eye on the battery is not green.

I am going to pull it out and have it load tested tomorrow.

Any idea if this could be the problem?

Yes, low voltage can make a mess of electronics. Post the results of the test.

Well I installed the new battery so we will see how it goes. I was surprised that the stock Delphi I pulled out was only 550CCA. So even if the battery is not the fix the $125 I spent on the 750CCA I put in it is money well spent.

Well it looks like the Battery was not the answer. It happened again twice last night. I took it to the dealer today and they said there were no codes. The mechanic said he would like to witness what it is doing to better diagnose the problem. I am going to take it in Monday afternoon and they are going to give me a loaner until Thursday, and see if it goes off in that time. I will keep you posted on what happens.

I'm willing to bet that the issue is either the hood latch or the driver door sensor that trips the alarm!

I'd be more inclined with a loose connection on the hood latch since when you slam it shut to close it, it can knock the contacts together.
