After installing my headers, i was revving my car in neutral, just to hear the sound. Initialy i thought there was something wrong because the car was cutting out at about 5 grand. Just so happens at that time my wife pulled in with her 2000 tl, so i had her try it & it did the same thing. To me that was a big relief, i thought something went wrong with my header install. Then i took her out on the road & she red lined just fine. Just curious what this is all about. Never even knew until i was testing my car after the install? Anyone know?

Don't quote me but nearly every Honda I've ever driven that has VTEC, will not rev past about 5000 rpm's in neutral.

There is an electronic rev limiter that limits the rpm's while the car is in neutral or park. This is a safety to prevent damage to the engine.

Our cars have a Rev-limiter of 4,000 rpm. Sucks...yes.

Yup Rev Limiter, same limiter that kicks in when you dont change gears in time when operating the SS mode.

now heres the trick, if you are rolling (even slower than a turtle can walk) it will go to just before redline revlimiter
