CD Player problems

I have an 03 TL no NAV. I am getting an error message from my (stock) CD player. It won't do anything but give me the error message. Can anyone help?

Post the error message or code it is giving you. Some one might be able to help if you post that

New member here. I am having the same problem with the stock 6 Disc changer. Gives me an "error 1" message. It won't even try to load the disc's. There are currently 3 disc's in the changer, but it only shows that two slots are loaded. Yesterday I tried "reseting" the cd player by disconnecting the power. Now it shows all the cd slots full and gives me a "CHEC......ER-E1" message. I called the closest Acura dealership and they say it will cost me atleast $350.00 to get it replaced. I did a search and tried all the suggestions I found (sliding in another cd, putting downward pressure, banging the side of the console...) but nothing seems to work. I am going to go downstairs and start taking it apart myself to try to get the disc's out and go from there. Any other suggestions out there for me? Or is going to the dealership the only course of action for me? Thanks in advance.

*edit* The cd player doesn't even make a sound like its trying to eject or load....its just quiet then the error message pops up.....

had the same Exact problem with my 02 TL....dealer recommended me to repair it instead of getting new one...so the estimate was around $350....found this place to repair for around $275 cheapest...still haven't decided wht to do...

The error message is the same as Angel describes (ER-E1). Right now I feeling pretty good about buying the extended warranty.

would this issue be covered under the extended warranty?

I have the same problem and I have the extended warranty!

I had the same problem on my 03 TL-S. When you press the eject button, does it look like it's trying to eject a CD? The CD slot will open for a few seconds, but nothing comes out? If so, there's a CD stuck there. Use a pair of tweezers to reach in there and pull the CD out.

I have this problem with CD's I've burned (which play just fine), but apparently the combination of the TDK CD I'm using plus the stick-on CD label is too thick. I don't change CD's all that often, but I now keep a pair of tweezers in the glove box (w/ scotch tape on the ends so I won't scratch the CDs).

I had the same problem - solution, I just order new Pioneer Premier DEH-P780MP + other goodies (spekars, amp, dash kit...). Bye, Bye Bose!

I am hoping the extended 6 yr warranty will cover repair or replacement?

Torez...I would like to see your new install and how it fits. if you can post a pic of the Pioneer install it would be greatly appreciated.

Is there a big difference in sound quality?

CD problems

I have a 2003, TL - no navi.

CD player went bad - error message. Understand it is quite common - these players are very finicky and expensive to replace. Bit the bullet and paid $250 for a warrantied repair out of Florida. Bose recommended this company and can be found on any website by searching under Acura - Bose radio repair. (mine needed a new laser and trays)

Replacement aftermarket radios will not work as well unless you pull everything out. This can be a costly proposition but may be worth it in the long run if you plan on keeping your car for a long time.

By the way, the units are made for Bose by other companies. Mine happened to be a Pioneer but when checking to see if Pioneer authorized repair companies would touch it, could not find any that would do so.

Ok, here I am a few months later. I went out and bought a top of the line Alpine system. I am not very satisfied. Sound quality is not the same. The one feature I like on the new system is integrated MP3 player. However, I do miss the sound of my Bose.

Had the same problem, do yourself a favor and don't ask Acura what a new head unit will cost, you might fall in the flooring laughing and hurt yourself.

$250 max will get it repaired with a warranty of one year. There are a couple of repair shops but the one I chose was out of Florida and recommended by Bose.

Sent the radio in and had it back about 10 -12 days later. Player now works but I have found will not read "burned" CD's. Does anyone have a clue why this is the case?
