project inspire: complete (but not satisfied) 56k go dig a hole

finally took some new pics of the car since i've fixed it up after the bad accident back in early april. finally it's time to unveil my baby once again for you guys after i splurged some money to finish up the inspire work minus the inspire bumper i had before the accident

here goes, enjoy and criticism is welcome as well as suggestions

and a wallpaper i made

future plans include chrome dipping my rims, even though i'm heavily against chrome rims i have very simply rims and they might look good in chrome to attribute to the natural chrome trim of our cars

gunna be chroming my grill like it used to be before the accident

when i get down to florida for college i'm going to get a 3.2 bumper and get the liscence plate holes filled in as well as giving the car a fresh spray job.

possibly a new custom exhaust and if i wanna get crazy i might look into a 5 speed vigor tranny swap.

coming soon?

finishing off the infinity system with ridiculous amounts of e-dead, a 10" sub and a nice amp

thanks for reading

Looking good! I like the wheels the way they are, but you could stand rolling the fenders and adding a 5mm spacer. If you are going to change the colour, then *maybe* chrome won't be bad.

~Cheers~

the hids are 6000k, if you're asking about my parking lights i don't have any bulbs in yet because of the different bulb size in the jdm headlights.

as far as chrome dipping the rims i'm torn up about it, the main reason i want to do something with them is because in person they look really worn away and crappy so i need to do SOMETHING

and yes the headlights are chrome black, i think it's better on my car than the flat black to be honest.

Chrome black on the wheels would look pretty good. I dont know if they do that though.

it's a direct bolt-on, but the only thing is the grill will have to be forced into place because the 3.2 grill is different.

also the sides of the bumper nearest the fenders won't fit perfectly, there will be like a cm of space unless you get a body shop to custom fit it which i am going to do

Sweet progress.. how does the ride feel with those springs? Anything close to stock or is it a sporty bumpy feel. When I drop my body, I want it to be as close to the stock feel, if not better, but lower. Thoughts?

with a simple spring/shock setup you won't get anything near stock feel.

anything aftermarket is going to be stiffer because the general purpose of lowering your car is for performance and stiff turning.

i feel more bumps and i have to be anal about going up driveways and around potholes but it's worth it for the look and extra handling edge

never expect a stock comfort level with aftermarket springs

that's why a lot of people like using adjustable coilovers so they can adjust the harshness of the ride for everyday driving or autoX.

from my experience the softest setting on coilovers is still harder than aftermarket springs/shocks unless you know a company that makes a soft ride
