DIY Video: Throttle Body Spacer Install 3G Garage #B-002
I tried to make it as simple as possible to understand.
Before you begin, if you have an AFTERMARKET cold air intake, you might have to remove your front bumper or access your wheel well.
This is because some CAIs have vibration mounts located INSIDE the wheel well and you'll need to be able to move your CAI to the side while installing your Throttle Body Spacer.
If you have a AEM CAI this doesn't apply to you since your Vibration Mount is inside the engine bay. If you do need to remove your front bumper here is a DIY video on how to do so. Just Click on Link Below

You happen to dyno this? Just wondering how the gains on a TL compare to the gains on a Civic (4.5 whp) http://www.powerrevracing.com/engine.html

I had the manual when I did mine.
I have to say this is what belonging to a board like this is all about. Aside from the needling and joking, it's video help like this that makes this forum so special.
It's also members like this that take the time to do these things. Thanks for making this forum the greatest.

what should I expect?
Auto probably 4.5 WHP and 7 or 8 ft-lbs of torque.

I'd like to add...
sandiegodrive,
I'm not criticizing your instructions, but I would like to add that you should mention to apply a dab of Loctite (or equivelant) thread locker (the blue stuff...not the red stuff) to the new bolts. I'd also suggest using stainless steel cap screws but I'm not sure what materials are supplied in the kit.
You can get stainless steel cap screws from McMaster-Carr online.
www.mcmaster.com
The plug in the bottom of the throttle body spacer looks plastic or delrin. I strongly suggest using a pipe plug made of aluminum or stainless to plug off that hole.
Again you can get them from McMaster-Carr supply house.
If you want to get carried away you can offer the inch pound torque spec for the 4 screws holding the throttle body onto the intake. Some people can over tighten things and strip it out...you'll get a bad name.
Aluminum is funny.
Other than that...nice video. Although I'd like to see a before and after dyno test to show the gains, this thread isn't about that.
Nice job.

Thanks San Dog, give a shout out to my peeps in PB.
Killer video, I just don't see how you moved the AEM intake out of the way so easily.

The Dougler asked me to post the scans for the throttle body removal, so he could get the torque specs. Here they are.

i seemed to have some trouble installing.. space issue...
i have AEM CAI on my 06 TL..
i took the cai out of the vibration mount.. when i am just testing the spacing.. i dun think i have enough room to fit like an extra inch of stuff if i were to bolt the CAI back to the mount... any advice?

WEAKSAUCE !!!
Anyone feel the difference with the spacer with the aem cai intake? compared to not having the spacer? It currerntly seems to have a lot of power gains....
