Talking my custom audio system by Simplicity in Sound!

I've had my car back for about a week now after it spent a week with Bing at Simplicity in Sound for some audio upgrades. This whole week
have been listening to see if any tweaks are needed or if there are any rattles....and nothing...this is one of the best systems
I've heard in a car! Bing's work is some of the cleanest I've seen...making it a no-brainer to have him do my TL after seeing some of his work
and having him do my previous car a little over a year ago. Although I was amazed at what he did with my IS350, I told him in the TL I wanted
it the system to sound even better and still be a stealth install...the system that was in the IS350 is nowhere close in terms of SQ.

We planned out the components over the course of a few months, and in the end ended up going with Zapco DC Reference (1000.4 & 500.1)
amps, SEAS Lotus Reference 2-way components and an ImageDynamics IDQv3 10" sub in a Wicked CAS box.

So....on to some pictures..

...front door dampened and the SEAS midbass in stock location...

...tweeter mounting rings in progress...

...tweeters in finished mounting rings...

...rear deck dampening with speakers and sub removed...

...sub box in progress...

...trunk wiring...

...tweeters installed...

...sub box and amp rack...

...tuning the amps...

Install looks nice and clean. Are you getting any trunk rattles?

Very Nice.

Sorry for the ignorance, but is the sub enclosure custom built?

Very Very nice selection of components. Definitely SQ. Those SEAS speakers matched up to the Zapco Amps must sound very nice. I like the white trim too. That ImageDynamics IDQv3 Sub was on my final three when I was looking for my sub. How's the front stage imaging with the tweeters pointing straight up and bounding off the glass? I want to experiment with some tweeter pods that point my CDTs towards the driver/passenger

hey guys, to answer some questions for ron:

1. the box is made by my buds over at www.wickedcas.com , i reinfored it with layers of dampeningon the inside and carpted it to match, only downside is the oversided idq does not fit in the 10" hole they have cut, so i integrated a custom baffle wit hthe white ring for it to flush it

2. its fully active Mike though not as much power as your set up hehe 1000.4 on the seas, 500.1 on the sub

3. the tweeter location, i had always been skeptical, but i heard Kirk's TL at CES, and i knoiw that the seas tweeter is one of hte softest and have good off axis, it turned out great. with time alignment, the image is dead center, and the staging ig almost half way up the window.

4. i had a good frined of mine, who is a damn good tuner, help tune the car

5. not an ounce of trunk rattle, the only two things on the car that does emit a little rattle are those i couldnt fix or dampen: the rear window seems to rattle, i can hear if i sit outside and bang on the rear window, kinda wierd for such a new car but its definetly there... and the movable pocket in the door rattles a litlte on certain notes. i dampened the plsatic door panel too around the spekaer but no way of dampening the pocket unless you loose its functionality completely

Nicest setup I have ever seen in a TL. Looks so clean. The best part is the trunk still has plenty of room. Just don't get a flat.

You used some pretty high-end stuff. Great choices on everything. I've heard the ID-Q subs are far more superior to the JL's.

I had to buy all new gear.....figured I'd go for good stuff this time around... I was happy when I got my 10W6 a few years ago...but after hearing Bing's IDMAX plus a few DLS and maybe a few other lines of subs in his customers cars I prefer ID...
