Anyone ever use Duplicolor Caliper Paint? Brush on style?

I just bought a brush on Duplicolor Caliper Paint Kit from autozone, but am thinking about taking it back. I've read around and it seems like the paint does not hold up well very long and flakes off b/c of brake dust and salt during winters.

Just wondering what you're experiences have been with the brush on paint(not spray!). I'm considering buying the G2 Caliper Paint kit b/c it is an epoxy rather then enamal.

I don't want to use spray paint b/c I would like to paint the calipers while they are on the car

I did this with my Accord, and it's help up great! The only thing that I did differently that everyone else is to grind down the dust and the calipers with a Dremel before you paint it. It still has help up perfect after two years with no re-application.

I use spray can high temp black paint and several clear coats. It is more efficient and it holds up very well. NO chipping yet. I only needed to do the rears.

I've used it on my 2G TL, as long as you sand the caliper for a smooth finish, the paint is awesome, but after a rough winter, does require reapplication in the spring... But it's cheap and does the job.

I guess I'll just keep it. It was only $17. I just don't want to ever have to repaint the calipers again lol...and I'm doing it right before winter at this point

Just a little touch up is needed on them from time to time- the can has enough paint to do 5 cars-
Its just as easy to apply another full coat when you do touchup- so they always look azine meet, show-car ready

caliper paint-Not the toughest material known to mankind- so it will get chipped
Use the prep spray cleaner in the kit, apply 3 coats- read the can directions on painting- they differ from the box
130 grit sandpaper or wire wheel or wire brush to rough the surface never hurt- good paint is 90 percent in the prep work
Take your time- enjoy- buy extra foam brushes and some smal flux brushes- the paint dries quickly and you need a new tool for recoat layers

Best to remove calipers and brackets to paint- clean and grease the calipers and pads while there- reassemble- touch up- done

I used that kit when I had the TSX. Painted calipers red. Cleaned them really good. I used break cleaner and sprayed them as well. Dries quick. I then applied 4 coats of the paint. I just went around to each caliper and applied a coat. By the time I got around to the first one it was dry. Held up pretty well. Good luck with your project.

5 coats!!! I thnk you set a new record! they will hold up well to abuse now!
Paint the rears black- they are such tiny calipers- do you really want to call attention to them ?? or be stealth about them -
and let the red fronts pretend they are a BIG brake kit~

I used the Duplicolor paint a couple days ago on my rears. I went with black to match the front Brembos. I did them on the car, only painting what's visible from the wheel well. If my car was a show car, I would've gone all out. I did clean them up well though, using the supplied cleaner and some Simple Green and various dremel attachments.

just finished my rears. Five coats on each caliper(really shined them up)....man do they look good even if they are small. It really gives my ride some more character and blends in nice with the Type-S badge. I'm gonna post some pics up tomorrow of the calipers without the wheels and then with the wheels on.

BTW, to you guys wondering why I posted here when I have an 02 CL-S...this section gets viewed the most

did it on mine

I did mine (front & rear) about 2.5 years ago using the same duplicolor brush kit. I have had no problems. (I did scrub the hell out of them first using brake cleaner (about a can per caliper) and a brass brush.
