P2R Ported Intake Runners Groupbuy: 04+ TL, 07-08 TL-S

We can set up a Groupbuy for this. Just a few notes up front.

1. I will need payment after the GB list has been populated b/c this will be a special order item. I will set up an item on my webstore so all can pay with their CC or even Paypal.

2. The runners will be brand new and will be ported.

3. You do not need any additional hardware and the stock gaskets have 2 layers to them (two layer steel) so you could reuse the gaskets at the plenum and runners. While you have it all apart it would be a good idea to put in P2R's thermal Intake Manifold Gasket which we will do for an extra $30 if bought with the runners.

4. You can send in your old runners to P2R for $50. They must be in excellent condition in order to get the $50.

5. Estimated gains should be about 5-6 HP and a little more with the IMG.

If I get 5 customers on the GB I can do $345 shipped and $30 extra if you want the P2R IMG. If I get 10 customers on the GB I can do $330 shipped and $30 extra if you want the P2R IMG.

Please start a list if you are interested. The GB list will need to be finished by Wed, Sept 10th and payment will be due by Friday Sept 12th.

If they gave $100 back for ours, I'd be more willing to do this. Goodluck with the groupbuy guys!

At this time $50 is all P2R will be able to give the customer back. It won't be worth it to P2R to give $100 back or he will be taking a loss and then have runners just sitting around. Also ppl won't want to pay the same price for used sets of runners. So for now $50 is what P2R will refund the end consumer.

The runners are actually being purchased direct from Honda/Acura for your application. when you put your name on the list, you need to put your car year and if its a Type S or not.

The 08 Accord actually has a different shape port from the TL. The ports on the accord are bigger.

Almost the Same Labor Rate P2R is doing here...

P2R is purchasing Both Runners from Acura for about $120 to $130 (depending on how much of a discount they are getting)...

They are selling them for $345 (Conservative 5 person GB)...

Plus giving you a Credit of $50 for sending back your old runners...

$345 - $120 - $50 = $175 For a Custom Performace Piece...
$330 - $120 - $50 = $160 " " " "

They question remains... Are people willing to spend $295 or $280 for 5 - 6 HP

I'm still in the fence about this... but if I was boosted and/or had an exhaust setup... ABSOLUTELY!!!

Thanks Joshua for helping develop more products for this vehicle...

^^x2, I would pay $150 to $175 to have a shop do my existing runners.....$300ish takes this out of my ballpark based on the 5-6hp added.

Great mod, I know other cars have really benefited from this but at this price I'll look for a local shop that can perform the task.

Another thing...

When you do a dollars per horsepower ratio between this mod and let's say a supercharger... this is a MUCH better Investment...

$280/6HP = $46.67 per HP = P2R Runners
$4000/60HP = $66.67 per HP = Comptech Supercharger

Is having your car down for 2 to 5 business days worth the extra $120??? Yes to me, but No to others...

This GB is perfect for people that want a Performance Mod on a vehicle they drive Everyday...

So if I buy 10 runners..it should equal a supercharger?

Actually, i think im going to just buy these from acura along with a few other parts and get everything ported and polished at a discount. Price does seem a bit steep.

What porting and polishing them is:
When the parts are made using a casting method, casting marks are left on the surface. If you take off your engine cover (black plastic on motor), you will see little squares all over the metal manifold from the casting process. What happens is with the intake manifold, these squares cause disruptions in air-flow, therefore reducing air into the motor. By grinding them off, the air flows smoothly.

Porting is where they take the holes, and make them slightly larger to allow more air to enter the engine.

intake runners

I'm planning to get my heads ported. I'd have to port match the intake runners then so I'll probably do it all at once.

You have to remove the manifold and then something with the fuel. I watched a mechanic swap everything out in less then 25 mins.

I removed the manifold, front fuel rail/injectors, removed the 2 bolts and 2 nuts holding the front runner to the heads, but the front runner wont budge....I didnt want to loosen the rear yet cuz the front was a PITA to loosen.

There are 2 studs going through it and not enough clearance to wiggle it out.

HELP

Opel - Just trying to help out gerzand with the following question

Does he need to remove that stud by doing the trick with jamming two nuts together to remove those studs that he is having problems with (being in his way)?
