Hi-

Anyone having this issue?
I have gray leather, which is still pretty light.
We have been noticing little discoloration spots on the leather seats- we've had the car for a month-

Anyone having similar issue?

It is possible for jeans to bleed to the leather, especially if the jeans are still decently new as the label on the jeans also say they will bleed. What kind of discoloration are you having? Post pics if possible, may be something in regards to leather quality which then the dealership will be able to help you out

haha sounds like a problem with your JEANS! that's odd though...your leather shouldn't "discolor" - if it's bad enough the leather may actually FLAKE off; sounds like you need to visit the dealership: warranty swap!

what is happening is the color is transfering from your jeans to your seat. Clean it with a good leather cleaner or if you have woolite, a 6 :1 water to woolite solution.

Umm, definitely your jeans.. I've owned white leather car before and I never had a problem.

the lighter color leather in the TL's is known to allow the transfer of the dye from newer jeans.

The post from TL/GTX that you bashed is in fact about the only thing you do to try and prevent it.

Actually I thought TL/GTX's response was rude and worthy of mine.
My wife was wearing darker jeans (Seven's) and we noticed it. Ok- I'll give csmeance's suggestion.

Seven jeans, bleed like a mutha!!!! I got a couple of pairs and it took a good time for it to stop bleeding.

New Car TL-S

my belt has transferred it's black color to the parchment seats. tried Lexol and Woolite and it's still there. There is another brand, Leathertique or something like that, it's mentioned in wash/wax forum. I'll try that someday.

have you tried those meguires wipes? i use those on my TL with good results, you just have to scrub pretty good to get spots out

My taupe seats started looking dingy fairly quickly after I bought the car brand new. I just picked up a thing of Lexol Leather Cleaner and a thing of Leather Conditioner. Clean until they look good, then condition. Haven't had the problem again.

The dye on my belt got transferred to the bottom of the back rest on my old TSX with gray interior. I regularly Lexol'd the seats in that car and it still happened. I checked with the detailers at the dealer and they were not aware of a product that would remove the dye. The only option they could offer was to have an upholstery expert touch up the area.

Some of the dark blue on a new pair of jeans started to transfer to the taupe seat bolsters on my TL-S, but Lexol seemed to remove it.
