04 5AT to 05 6MT Transformation has Commenced.

This is a fairly intense task, but i've found it's kind of fun! I've been taking some pictures along the way. Enjoy the pics guys.

First modification! PMU shift knob.

Glimpse of the brembo caliper.

Engine bay

Lefty Loosey.

Intercooler preparing for deployment.

OEM airbox and ductwork removed.

Painted the door panels black and red. Duplicolor vinyl/interior paint.

IC removed from 5AT.

IC installed on 6MT.

Ice cream break!...more to come soon.

Tow hook lending a helping hand. Jon came by to check out the action.

Painted the radiator support bars blue with Duplicolor metalcast.

3 WDPs, a 4th one was behind the camera...Jim's WDP-S.

CT Supercharger and Royce Han manifold removed.

Looks like a snakes den.

Leaning towards painting it flat black.

Bumper beam reinstalled.

Decided to remove the valve cover for paint.

This is the definition of a half ass paint job hehe.

Few coats of Duplicolor yellow engine enamel.

Valve cover bolts.

Royce Han polished manifold. Even when dirty it looks glorious!

Spoon radiator stay and custom bolts by me.

That's all for now folks!

Looking good so far, I think it would have been better if you take off the door panels and just place some black cloth over it, weight reduction FTW

It's a massive task! I was iffy about painting the leather part of the door panel, but so far the paint is still adhering to the surface of the leather/simulated leather. The door panels are the only thing i've touched on the inside. I showed my friend Justin what I did, and he liked it so much he decided to try it as well. Here's his car and a shot of his passenger side panel.

Thanks! When I first started taking the interior out a year ago I was going to take the door panels out. But in doing so, the info center illuminates that the doors are open, and you can't read any of the info, so i left them in. I think the front panels weigh around 8lbs each, and the rears are probably 6lbs.

hahaha it is probably less than half ass. It's more of a quarter ass job. Thanks Faiz!

At first it was hard to get started because i kept staring at the two cars and nothing was getting accomplished. But then I started doing work all of a sudden and it's been smooth so far.

haha. I've been at it for about a week now.

The plan is to see how this red holds up, and if it starts to deteriorate, then i'll send the panels to my cousin who does interior work. Probably go with a fabric to match the Recaros. The s2000 color scheme is hot!

Nice progress so far! Two comments: 1) That yellow valve cover looks REALLY out of place, a different color would've been better IMO. 2) I know the 6MT has Brembos, but are you still planning to put the Project Mus on there if they fit? I'd think they are better than the Brembos, and they definitely look better.
