Bzyrice's Progress Thread - Updates pg 10! 07/22/10

Well, I have missed all the meets in Orlando recently because of my new job. But, I have been working on my car on my days off. Been doing all the free mods that I could do since I spent a little too much the first month I bought the car .. haha.. pm me if you want to have a photoshoot!

So here is the my car! (Proper photoshoot to come!)

Here are some of the recent mods I have done:
Painted Grill inserts Black using trim spay paint:

Installed an s2k knob I had sitting in my garage from my old s2k (I miss my s2k =( ):

Installed a Fujita intake (custom painted black with rough texture to make it look more factory ):

And my favorite mod that I just did last week was painting my calipers!! I wanted that 350z touring Brembo look. Took me 2 days to get it done because of waiting for all the paint to dry properly (I wanted to make sure it came out right the first time!) I did not remove the calipers since I could paint most of it without removing them (I have painted calipers before and don't see the need to remove them.):
How my car looked for two days (I know I shouldve used jack stands lol)

Painted the calipers red first with VHT Caliper Spray paint(forgot to take a pic).. then put a brembo sticker on.. then painted it Gold with G2 Paint. Here are pics removing the stickers.. This part was a PAIN!!

Final Product!!
Rears (I sanded down all the casting marks for a cleaner look, just took some 200 grit sand paper and went to work for about half an hour on each caliper):

Fronts:

So my list of mods now are:
- Aspec Kit
- Tein SS coilovers
- Fujita CAI custom painted texture black
- 19" Privat Netz
- Black Roof (vinyl)
- Black Grill
- Custom painted calipers
- s2k shift knob
- OEM Acura Window Visors

Got a few more mods to come later this year! But this is good for me for now for my daily driver!

I like the color choice on the calipers. It flows with the amber reflector also the fujita badging too. Is the G2 paint the brush on or spray?

Calipers look great but man you need new rotors. Can't have nice calipers with old rusty rotors. I recommend looking into the stoptechs. The improvement will be like night and day it will look so much better. Thats just my but anyways your car looks really nice man and much props for painting the calipers yourself they came out great. I am thinking about repainting mine in red with either a white or silver brembo sticker.

I know man! I wish I could've made it out to the meets, but work is keeping me busy on the weekends. Sold the aspecs on ebay for xmas money lol .. since they were just sitting in my garage.. Let me know when you want to get together! I am mostly free during the week until April. Then I don't have to work weekends anymore. Pm'd u back..

Thanks! These wheels were inexpensive and look good. I am tired of having expensive wheels I would always worry about. Now I am worry free and am happy with the way they look!

New Mods!

So finally got around to finishing one of my favorite mods!! Took me about 6 hours total over 2 days to finish this.. I have been thinking about how to do this recessed since I did not want to have the same problems other members were having with them falling off or getting wet and shorting out. I wanted mine to last a LOONG time.. i hate doing something and it failing a few months later.. so with the help of CarrieLynn and some other posters here I finally got it done.. Thanks guys for the motivations and help! Btw this is not everyone's cup of tea .. lol .. but I like it! and thats all that matters!

On to the pics...
First off this was my first inspiration (I may do the rear LEDs also in the future):

Drilled holes in the side skirts and Installed my custom made puddle light holders and wired them up (I made thes out of PVC 2" drain snap on plugs, some plexiglass and some bolts and screws. also tried my best to seal them with some silicon):

I wired them to the rear map lights like another poster on here did.. ran the wire from the rear map light down the driver side C pillar and down the side of the driver side seat.. Then through 2 plugs that lead to the outside of the car.. luckily another member here found these plugs so I would not have to drill any holes to run the wires to the outside. I also went to the junkyard and got some clips off of a honda accord and used them just in case i felt like unplugging the lights.. Looks factory too!! Pics below are of the wiring I did after zip tying them and fixing them up:

SO here are the finaly results. These only light up when I open the door or unlock the door with the key FOB. They also fade out which is pretty nice.. I wanted to be able to control them on and off with the rear map light in case I wanted to do a photo shoot with them, but couldnt figure out how to wire it.. (so if someone could help me with that part, that would be aweseome!) I do need to adjust some of the driver side lights since I did not measure correctly and they dont look aligned.. I was just in a rush to finish since I had to go out of town that night.. DOGH!! So when I get a chance I will have to go back down there and redrill some holes.
With the camera Flash:

Without the Camera Flash (Sorry for the crappy pics!):

Now I need to wash my Dirty a$$ car... lol

Also just got accord fogs.. so those will be going on once I get some new yellow bulbs in for them!

NICE!!!!

I got your pm, and it's been so long I actually forgot you were doing these. I remember when I was doing my puddle lights those dome light wires were a pain to find. I basically did the same thing you did with the lights but I did 4 on each side and spaced them out more. Mine turn on and off the same way!
Anyways I knew you were doin the lights but wow you have been busy with other stuff too huh?
Funny I am working on the accord fogs now too. Let me know how you make out with those. I'll post up some pics of mine when I am done.
Your car looks great btw!
and thanks for the special mention in your post above LOVE IT lol

yah haha.. i just had this on my list of things to do and finally got around to doing them! I got the lights as a xmas present... so its been 4 months.. lol .. i read somewhere yours stopped working because of the snow.. did you fix the issue?
Yah I was supposed to start working on the fogs today, but ended up getting lazy and wanted to take it easy before I go back to work the next few days.. but the should be in sometime next week. also wanted to wait to get a set of yellow bulbs before I install them so it wont be a headahe to swap out bulbs later..

but thanks again for all our help! you deserve a mention for being so helpful!

Yah I was supposed to start working on the fogs today, but ended up getting lazy and wanted to take it easy before I go back to work the next few days.. but the should be in sometime next week. also wanted to wait to get a set of yellow bulbs before I install them so it wont be a headahe to swap out bulbs later..

but thanks again for all our help! you deserve a mention for being so helpful!
yea mine stopped working in a snow storm. I fixed them once and they went out again, right now I have one working...I know, that's bad. Since it is getting warm here in CT I will probably try to fix them soon.

As far as the fogs go I am dealing with the same thing........waiting. Myself and another member here are doing the fogs on both of our cars. We have the fogs but we also ordered some new lower grill pieces and some oem switches to use so we are waiting for them. We are also looking at getting an hid kit for them but it is out of stock. So yea, I'll let you know how that goes but we are in no rush so it may be a few weeks or more.
