My A-Spec kit installed

I decided to use most of my tax return and purchase the A-Spec kit. I took advantage of the great deal from the March Madness event by Prestige Acura (took only 3 days to ship from CA ) Many thanks to AZ member tienr for helping install the kit for me this past Saturday. I provided a little (emphasis on little) help...lol. I love the kit more than I ever thought I would The pics aren't that special but yesterday was a nice day. I can't believe I have already spent around $1100 on mods for my TL, and it's been a month...lol.

Theang (tienr) can give some more insight on the difficulty of the install, but it is definitely easier to have 2 people, as he installed his by himself and mentioned it was a good bit easier this time around. It took about 3:15 or so. I added some tape to the upper part of the front lip toward the wheel wells, and that really helped make the seam tight. But don't buy white tape to do it...lol. I realized that when I put it on, and spent 20 mins or so yesterday using touchup paint to cover the top of the tape that is seen from above...lol.

Probably no suspension mods for me. I got this car to be more of a luxury ride with some hints of sport, and I like the ride the way it is so far. I may get some 18" rims when it comes time to get new tires (not for a while hopefully) and I'll determine if it looks like I 'need' a drop.

A-spec kit looks awesome... mine should be here friday, hope to get it on this weekend!! How well did the 3M double-side tape work?? I've read on a few of the thousand a-spec threads that some people put a small bead of clear auto silicone where the kit meets the body... any need for that???

btw, if youre looking for wheels... I stumbled on a sale from Findlay Acura (Las Vegas)... 18x8 a-spec wheels (all finishes) with Goodyear Eagle GT, shipped... $1795. I wasnt planning on doing the wheels just yet, but I think this is too good of a deal to pass up!!!

Sweet pics with the NBP... gotta find me a TL buddy out here!

What I did was add a layer of tape on the upper edge of the front lip near the wheel wells, since I thought the stock tape was placed too low in those areas to lessen the gap. As I said before, get black and not white tape like I did, or you will be annoyed at the white showing, and using the tip of a paper clip and touchup to try and cover it up lol . There is a slight gap on that area of the front lip, but it is uniform and looks fine/like it should be that way. The sides and rear look very flush, and the 'stock' tape holds up very well so far. Unless the gap gets bigger, I won't use any caulking to fill the gap.

I wish I could spend the money on A-Specs and tires. I have the money etc, but the stock 17's are nice enough. I'll look into it when I need new tires. Of course the sensible side of me says that now, but who knows what I will be thinking in another few months...lol.

good heads up on the gaps, I'll see what turns up when I get my kit in... I ordered it a week ago and its still not here... guess it takes a while to ship it 3/4 the way across the country!!!

I hear ya on the wheels... The stock 17s are nice.. I just knew I wanted to get new rims, and I think the deal I found will be hard to beat and may not be there later, so I'm gonna splurge and get them w/ my tax refund... i'll be 2 months into ownership and 3k into mods...but after that ill be done for a while .

Car looks great man, keep up the nice touches!

Nice work PSULou! I basically have your twin car, except mine is parchment inside instead of gray. Makes the car look 100x better than straight stock, that's for sure. I have very little gaps on the corners of the front bumper, but I don't think I'll try to touch it up because I'll end up making it worse. Looks sweet the way it is now.

Thanks for the nice comments everyone

Anthracite13 - I def agree about the deal on the A-Specs and tires. Seems like a very good one. If you go to the Meets forum I think you will find a thread or 2 with people from the Illinois area. I remember looking around last week, and saw it on the first page of that section. Hopefully you can find other local AZ members there.

No problem Zeus. If I didn't have any local ziners around to help, I probably would have had to pay the dealer to install it, and that is a pretty penny.

BTW, your ride is really nice, and the body kit is a nice addition. Always liked the 2G TL and CL
