Factory IM Spacer - 17108-RDJ-A00
Yes... thats correct... an Intake Manifold Spacer from the factory for pretty friggin cheap
sandwich this in between 2 x p2r IM gaskets FTW
It comes standard on the MDX/ODYSSEY/PILOT so why not rock the higher tq IM spacer on the TL
yes I might have left, but I've been doing some v6 research for whatever reason
here's the diagram... speaking of part # 3... looks like you will need to get longer IM bolts {part #24, need 7 of them 95701-08105-08}... which are like $2 a piece... you will also need to get hood spacer bushings to raise the hood a little to clear it (theorized by Richie v6)
ps. will also require 92900-08060-1B (2 of them) which is the long stud on the intake runners

yeah I think there will be some hood clearance issues, richie v6 mentioned this, and I pointed out you can do what everyone else with itb does.... and get a set of hood spacer bushings which raise the hood about another 10mm and also you remove the rug under the hood and replace it with some heat reflective gold film or spray it with some heat coating
as for cai fitment, you just get a bracket from like radioshack.. and just keep the vibramount in the same place... its not that big of a difference honestly...
can someone test out and see how much clearance there is under their hood... get a coke can place it on top of the IM and close the hood..... depending how crushed the can is, thats how much clearance we got

Anyway, awesome. I thought there may have been an issue with CAI fitment as the throttle body would probably be raised as well. I can go do the can thing in a bit hahaha.

So.... I just went to go crush a can with my hood.
It was crushed practically all the way, I don't think it can be crushed any further.
I put the can in 3 different spots.
Will be measuring and posting some pics shortly.

Don't mind the dirty engine bay =]
Before can placement.
Can placement ontop of VTEC
Crushed.
Relocated slightly towards driver and recrushed.
IM Gasket from P2R purchased from ATLP back in Jan [never installed].
Measurement of can.
I also placed it to the highest point of the engine cover---but it did not crush any further. Once the can was crushed it pretty much closed fine when paced anywhere on top of the IM.

good shit... here is where the can method came into play
My current cars
96 honda civic with an LS motor
97 acura integra with an LS motor
So I see a guy online who swapped in a v6 into the ek civic (96-00)... and he didn't require a hood modification
so I never actually got to try the method... but figured this would be a great op for it ... and looks like the method is fully functional
so cleancl did you measure yet?

Burning Brakes
But most likely will kill topend HP. If I'm following you right, you're essentially lengthing the intake runners. Adding length to the runners improves low and midrange power, but as the air flow increases, the air flow becomes very turbulent and essentially chokes the motor in the upper rpms. This is why many cars use either two sets of intake runners (short and long) or a tuned variable design.
I'd definitely dyno before and after to make sure the gains truely will improve overall performance before claiming "massive" tq gains.

I understand the concern about chocking the block topend... but this is not a mod for a stock car... this is a mod for someone's car that already has a hiflowing exhaust... I am trying to get some of that low end torque back
beachexotic... I take it you will me maching these to your intake runners and intake manis opening correct? are you machining it then?

you pretty much would have everything 1 would need, and as shown it will def clear the hood... but I'd still run the hood latch bushings to account for engine movement
corsport has them... believe they are the same for the rsx and tl
