I was happy to see i got 30k miles from my brembos after hearing all the stories about 15k or less....anyway, took all of 30-45 minutes, put in autozone duralast c-max gold ceramics....60 bucks....

Im also curious as im almost at that time with 32,500 miles on my originals. I would prefer to stay with OEM Brembo brakes but would possibly consider others. The brake dust is REALLY bad.

oem wasnt even a consideration for me...way too much dust...i will repost next week sometime to let you know on the dusting and braking...so far the brakes feel nice, and the install was a piece of cake and the price was right too...the brembos are twice as much and probably last half as long...i did get 30k out of mine, and they had a little life left in them, but the feeler tab was getting close....

Hell all it should take is one drive to know if they dust as much as the OEM brembos :-) I can drive around the block and you can whip your finger on the rim and come off with a black finger.
Also, did you buy new rotors or have yours turned?

yea, but my wheels were dirty to begin with!! i didnt do anything with the rotors, its not recommended to turn the brembo rotors, and they didnt need to be replaced this time....

I have the CMAX Gold Brake Pads with their lifetime warranty for over 15k miles and they are working great! Very little brake dust.

I've got 11,500 miles on my stock OE pads, I will be lucky to get 20k miles out of them, probably closer to 15k miles.

They do stop very well, but they suck for durability.

Brake Pads usually last 15-25k miles efficiently. AutoZone will give a new pair if they wear. I've had several people buy these and are happy with everything and they only cost $100 for a full set for a lifetime, well for me it was.

they are awesome, had it for like 12K miles already, still loving it, no noise, no dust.

They are like green color pads, forgot teh name but know tehy are green color. Its really nice, they are not projects mus thats for sure. but tehy are pretty great.

anyone heard or used of thse pads before. They box i recall is like white red adn silver i think. the pad is not black its green color. Looked really nice, had logo stamped too, dbs or abs or something. I think ima change pads soon, but cant find the ebay vendor that was selling it....need help

sweet....i have noticed that initial bite on the brembo pads are slightly better, but over all i am very pleased with the cmax pads...the dusting issue alone was enough for me....

Got '05 TL. I still haven't changed my stock pad yet. My car is on 50k+ miles now. Do I need to change the pad now?

About the same here. I took the Brembo pads off at about 25k and used the Duralast CMAX gold ceramics. Just like you, I can tell the initial bite is not as hard but that doesn't matter to me. The OEM pads dust too damn much so I'll trade some bite for less dust.

So your saying the Brembos only cost $120? WHERE?! I was only finding them for $200!

ANY more info would be appreciated, I need to do my front pads ASAP. Looks like you guys saved me from spending $200 on Brembos. My father in law recommended Adaptive Ones from Napa but they dont make them for the Type-S. I like the braking performance of the stock pads and I do tend to use them intensely at times...Orange Crush & Vinnier was the change dramatic? I needed to change these like yesterday!

OH also forgot to ask if you changed the rotors or had them cut/shaved down?

Izzy, do your finances a favor and get the ones from AutoZone. Lifetime warranty so when your pads where out you take them in and get a new set. If you do a lot of city driving this is kind of a no-brainer and I recommend the Duralast pads.

About the only way I can describe the difference is that the Brembo pads have more of an initial bite to them. THe braking feels stronger and with the Duralast pads you have to break slightly harder to get the same bite as the Brembo pads. But, if you're in a stop or die situation these things still grab hard. Go with the Duralast's.

Since I still had a good amount of pad life left I did not need to turn the rotors. I meant to change my pads early as I didn't want to need to buy new rotors or piss around with having them turned.

Link below for the pads online at AutoZone.

how does the pad swap work, do you have to bring them your old ones before you get the new ones? If so, that's pretty inconvenient.

^ In the past I went in and bought the new pads then did the pad change. Then I would go back in with the old pads and they would give me my refund.

Wow! Yeah I went & looked at them at my local Autozone, they look good, feel a little rubbery....but damn, they just keep giving you new pads forever while you only spent $60? Ok I'm counting on you, I'm gonna go with these and get them installed Thursday. Thanks OrangeCrush! I'll post what I think. I understand you dont need performance braking all the time, I like to push it on the highway & have had some close calls but I'm sure these pads will still do their job. Thanks again!

Oh forgot to mention mine are squeeking and grinding a bit...I should turn the rotors? How does that work, I've always been talked into shaving/cutting them? The TL-S's just flop around & can be turned staying on the same wheel?

I'm not a fan of turning rotors unless it's 100% necessary. You'd be removing material, which makes them more prone to warping and hot spotting.

When you hit the brakes, does the pedal vibrate? If not, I'd leave them alone and just do the pad swap.

THANKS! I'll definitely take you up on all these suggestions. The pedal is not vibrating at all but the disk does have some lines in it. My father in law is a very nice guy but used to working on some trashy cars so that could be why he insists on cutting them. Thanks!

A lot of people are running them. You'll be fine.

Yes, they will keep giving you new pads. Even if they change their policy down the road you're still only out $60 as opposed to buying the Brembo pads and being out $150+.

I'm in the 22K range on my original pads. I think I'll look into these. Thanks for the info.

Was there any break in procedure?

Just your typical bedding afterwards. I did about 6 hard stops starting at 15mph up to 45mph.

Well I'm heading off to buy them & do what my fellow Acurazine peoples have done & tried. I'm getting Autozone part number: DGC1049 Duralast Gold Cmax brake pads. Worse thing that can go wrong is I ruin the rotors & I buy performance ones! jk I know these will be fine.

Well you all were exactly right. They are nice, quiet & easy to install. However, that initial bite is gone! It seems like I have to step on the brake further in for it to start stopping. The biggest slap was when my wife said "oh, they're fine...it feels more like brakes" ...she drives an 04 Civic, not a good comment. All in all, I'm happy & saved $140 off OEM since the only ones I was finding around here were $205. Thanks guys.

one week later, 250 miles and the brakes are very good, i dont notice the initial bite difference anymore as the brakes work quite well....just about zero dusting....i wish i would have swapped out my brake pads the day i rolled the car off the showroom floor!!

Izzy, trust me, these brakes dont feel like an 04 civic....the pads are still beeing squeezed by a 4 piston brembo caliper....give them a few hundred miles to break them in and see what you think....

I know, was just teasing about my wife. Yeah they feel fine & going to downstate Illinois tomorrow, about 150 mile drive so we'll test them out. Thanks!

Had the autozone duralast cmax pads put in today. I like them!

The front and back OEM's were squealing so I decided to replace them with the CMAX pads. My initial impressions were that they feel like the original pads. And this is before I broke them in. In fact Im still breaking them in!
