You don't have to buy one... just make it yourself. Go to your local art supply store and get some cardboard, crayons, and elmers glue.

You can find the caliper covers on ebay. Maybe even the Acura stickers. There's a DIY in the 3G garage on how to do the Acura name and paint the calipers. I would think the covers would hold in the heat from braking.

I agree get the real deal or nothing at all. Those caliper covers are :ghey: might as well put some plastic pep boys spinners on your car as well.

Why spend over 30 bucks on those stupid covers when you can shop around and get the real stuff for not much more.

+1 on not spending money on covers but what do you mean not much more? how much does a brembo brake swap cost? or any other BBK for an auto? I would guess a lot more than 30$

I wouldn't spend $30 if you are willing to spend $500 to $800 on repairing your brakes and wheels if it fails.

Brembo have a kit. If cost is a factor, try Rotora or Wilwood.

all that i wanted to know was how it look. i do not want brembo brakes nor i want to change the entire brake system, i thought it looked cool how the caliper said "acura" and wanted to ad something similar to mine just for look. Why should i invest $500+ just if i want to do something small to the car.

i do not want to be showing off saying that i have brembo, just like people like to put the front acura logo on their bumper, put 07-08 bumber to a 04-06, switch their navi logo wallpaper to a custom one, it just for look nothing else.

I saw a guy selling his Brembos for TL for 90 bucks. For 90 bucks i would buy real Brembo that Say Acura on them instead the covers. It improves the looks and improves braking performance.

Do a brembo conversion. Somebody in the black market had a brand new set of OEM brembo calipers for sale.

Don't do a brembo conversion....

You will need a million and one parts. Trust me, I have them sitting in the living room now.. A brand new knuckle setup. Not worth it... go after market.

In everyday driving, the Brembos are no better than the single piston caliper, it's been proven. The only thing the Brembo's are better at doing is eating the pads much quicker.

He wasn't bashing those ideas. I think he was trying to say this: I want something aesthetically done for visual purposes such as those ideas. He does not want to spend a lot of money for something to look good. He would rather buy these for 30 dollars to give the illusion of brembos'. Illusion's such as the 07-08 bumper on a 04-06 and the custom navigation background and such.

But those aren't illusions, if someone puts puts a 07-08 bumper on their car they have an ACTUAL 07-08 bumper, not plastic cover pretending to be an 07-08 bumper. The fake brembo cover is rice, its in the same catagory as those fake fender vents.

ROTFL......cummon man!! You're 29 years old with a nice care...why do you want to "rice" it out? If you like the look, put the $$ you spend on those stupid covers away, save for a few months, and get real Brembos................

Took this from the other thread:

What's wrong with using covers if one so chooses.

I posted this before, but added a few items:
After being on here for a while and seeing the changes to the headlights, tail lights, side markers, painted and cut grilles, added fogs, de-chromed trunks, roof spoilers, trunk wings, 19” & 20” wheels that have been painted white, black, or even multi colored, colored wipers, slammed to the ground and no ride quality, cut bumpers, door vent visors, black roof, black hood, both naturally installed on a TL that is not black in color, chrome/stainless steel pillars, LED obsessions, racing stripes and huge tires, why not install the caliper covers, what’s the big deal?

I'm going to throw this out there in a not gentle way, putting feaux-Brembos on your car is seriously rice. It's something the ricer-Civic crowd would do. You may as well put one of those fake Ebay turbo-whistlers on your car as well :P

If you want your calipers to look better, pick up the G3 Paint Kit and paint them yourself. Otherwise, don't be surprised if you get called out when you go to an enthusiast meet.

But isn't this just as bad as the person who does the

TL --> TL-S conversion?? without changing out the engine????

(not saying I agree with the OP, but just playing devil's advocate with all the name calling he's getting)!.

Well, swapping out OEM body parts is pretty common and accepted across the "tuner" community (Before my STi I had a TurboXS stage 4 WRX that I did some tasteful OEM body mods to, including STi front bumper strakes and JDM aeroguards. Lots of Suby people will also swap WRX for STi wings, etc.). All of the parts were designed for that chassis and some of them just flat out look better. I actually took the sideskirts from my old WRX and put them on my STi because I thought they looked better.

An aftermarket part that was never meant to be on your car, albeit one that was designed to make it look like you have more performance than you actually do, is rice

I dunno?

Seems pretty similar to someone that will put on a whole Type-S bodykit, Type-S wheels, Type-S tails, Type-S sidemarkers, etc.

Although the parts may not be aftermarket, your making your car look like it has more performace than it actually does.

Agreed!! There really is no difference.. just pretending to be something that its really not...

The pics I've seen don't look too bad... But just dont start putting blow holes in your quarter panel!
