TPMS System Error
Hello, I am new tot his forum. i have been searching on here for something similar to my issue and have found nothing so thought to post. The problem is when i drive after about a mile and doing over 35, the tpms light comes on and throws a TPMS system error messege. I checked the tire pressures on the gage before driving and they read 58 psi on all the tires, but when i manually check them with a gage they read 32. I havent found anything on this forum or any other with this kind of issue and the problem always resets after turning the car off. any suggestions? by the way its an 06. Thanks

I read there was two sensors the one in the wheel and the actual sensor. i have been looking for a diagram for that system and more information on it but nothing really. Any ideas where to look next?

Just out of curiosity .. has this done this from the day you bought the car new?
Reason I ask is thats the same error I get when I have my summer wheels on with no TPMS sensors in them.
Maybe there is no sensors in the wheels.

actually i didnt buy the car new i bought it used, only a few days ago at that and the owner had no idea what it was. the tires to look pretty new they didnt say they were replaced. maybe possibility there are no sensors in there at all? but then why would it give a faulty reading?

If there is no sensors thats what it does ... go look at your rims .. are the valve stems metal with a small what looks like a lock nut on it. Or are they rubber with possibly a chrome sleeve over them?

its too dark to get a good picture of the wheel, but it def doesnt look like that. the whole stem is black and those look like they are chrome/silver stems. im starting to think that you may be right and there arent any sensors in the wheels. ill get a pic of the wheel in the day light and see how it looks but im sure not like the pic u put up.

Jesstzn posted the pic of an OEM '06+ TL wheel, which has the TPMS. The '04-'05 OEM wheels look the same, except for the cutout for the valve stem/sensor area.
Some prior owner of your TL replaced the stock wheels, so you'll need new ones with sensors for the TPMS to work.

You might consider buying some used '06+ OEM wheels w/TPMS, or '07+ Type-S wheels (which I find to be ), through the Black Market section at: https://acurazine.com/forums/car-parts-sale-361/.
Oh, I'm not sure if you can have access to the BM section or are able to use PM until 15 days after you joined AZ and have 5 posts.

Same Error
I'm having the same error as devildon, except I'm only having 2 tires read 58 and occasionally on the other 2 tires that show tire pressures I will get a low tire warning, and it will say 25 or 26 psi, yet when I get to the gas station to put air in it and check the tire pressure its acutually about 35 or so, and the other reading is off by about 5-10 psi as well. After about 3-5 minutes of driving I get the same tpms system error as devildon also.
Do you think its the individual tire sensors or the main reciever?
Thanks

However, when you check the tire pressures at the gas station, are you using the gauge that is on the air hose? If so, don't trust those air hose gauges-- they are incredibly inaccurate.
Buy your own tire gauge to check the tire psi when the tires are COLD (when the car hasn't traveled for more than a mile in the past 6 hours). The TPMS is supposedly pretty accurate, so its readings should actually match a good gauge, or at least come within a couple of pounds.
Also, air pressure drops with colder temperatures, so add in air when the weather gets colder to bring the air pressure up to at least the recommended pressures per the owner's manual & door plate.

@ turbonut... what kind of tpms adapters? anything that i am seeing when i search for the sensors i dont see anything saying adapter. i didnt know they had any adapters for them.

i believe you can put the stems in the 04 and 05 wheels others on the forum have done it. if it works for the 04 aspec wheels i dont see why it wont work for the 04/05 base wheels

So i tried to put the sensors in the wheels that i have and the sensor stems are too long and air leaks out. is this where the adapters come in that you are talking about?
