Unfortunately not...
It was a $3,900 bill... and I told them to hold back on a few parts 'cause I didn't need it. (in retrospect should of had them order it anyway)
Thanks! But... well she's fixed now!
I could have written off the car... I should have to think of it. And get the TLX or 4g TL---or wait to copy you and get whatever you're getting!
Did you make the thread yet?! What's going on with you these days?
And car is alive again!!
As just mentioned, I told them to hold off on a few parts... I should have them order it for me anyway [lower grilles, mid-grille, cross-bar]. I forgot to ask them to get me a tow-hook cover and the license plate covers (or to fill it in like my damaged bumper).
Picking her up:
Picture of my original bumper that they did not want to fix..
They lost the tiny broken piece... so now I have to fill in that broken piece from scratch.
Later on that night I went on a small trip to see a friend to pay them for buying me Above & Beyond tickets.
The TL somehow hit some amazing mileage, even if it was for a minute or less!
[but it averaged out quite well]. She NEVER hit those numbers before, ever!
Started off with this:
Then hit this:
Stayed 4 for a few KMs, went back to 5. Stayed at 5 then hit this:
Short while later, arrived at my destination. I drove literally 2 blocks and it ended up switching to this:
--
Ordered new plugs for my V3 Tritons... so I decided to do this mod:
Thursday night:
March 30 in Windsor, before my hit and run:
Oh yeah... the tow truck driver also damaged my rear diffuser... I have to fix it somehow...
It's still there though.
And have a secret mod in the works...
Thanks! But... well she's fixed now!

Keep the TL away from city, you get good MPG. That's how it was for me
Just had a Mazda 6 v4 loaner from Canada, I was getting 8.3 L/100 which sucked after my BRZ.
Go to Europe, they say meh to a 6 L/100
Glad you kept it, your TL is kind of different than others ones on the road... kinddd off :P
Nice mods, you know I love them.
What's the secret mod ?

You went to Canada? Where'd you go? Did you stock up on our maple syrup?
8.3L isn't bad if it's city!
I had a '14 Toyota Camry for my rental... very boring car---but it averaged 6.4L/100KM highway so that wasn't too bad... Although my TL does almost as much with a heavier and more powerful car. So... the Camry, in retrospect, isn't that great on the highway.
Yepp! Glad I kept her too---My mom told me we should have written her off after we agreed to fix it. But it was already being fixed so couldn't stop! But, love the TL. It doesn't feel outdated at all!
Secret mod has to do with something in the rear end... heheh....
Someone posted it on the forum though, so if you lurk around somewhere you can see it... =p
And thanks for the link! Looks like I'll have to venture into Car Talk more often now!
Thanks Steven! Even though it was my school at 2AM the security gave me the boot =/

Did you motify your front aspec lip to stick out more? (not talking about to make it fit to your 07-08 bumper). I see that your lip sticks out a little more than if on a 04-06 bumper from a side shot/view.

Danny, I'm really not sure how I missed your thread.
On one hand, you have balls the size of an overweight Rhino to try some of the shit you've tried. I read through your entire thread and all I can say is that you're the absolute Maddest TL Scientist on all of Acurazine.
But I dig your style and plan to check in frequently, you nutty fuck.

Nooooo 8.3 with 80% Highway. Mazda sucks
Naah I wish, just a rental around Boston when I left my car at the service over the weekend.
Camry is good with MPG as I know
Yes yes glad you kept it
Sunday night I was driving the FX and a Blue Type-S passes on the highway, may be like with 130mph and sounded sexy as hell. Don't ask what that reminded me of hahahaha
I want a Type-S MT as a winter car now with just performance mods
I average 7/8L on long highway trips. City+highway I usually do 9L. So I was really surprised with 4,5 and 6!

Funny... because when I went home to my mom's, I drove her FX and saw an ASM TL-S also fly by me [stock though]. It reminded me of my very own incapacitated car =p
Dude, you should totally get a TL-S as your winter beater! But do an insane diet like Inacurrate or Villo or Anil (or was his a bit more mild?)
It's been raining all week... so no work on the 'secret mod' =[

And... you know... I probably could, got a new job so I'd have to check with them though!
Fantastic idea indeed---I don't work Sundays.. so if I can't get Saturday off I could always make it for the 8th? I'll have to think about it hahah
small update:
Gotta fix this... That's what happens when you get your car towed unattended.
Easiest way to fix it is to shave it off and smooth it out... Proper way to fix it is to refiberglass it and build upon it [and fix any cracks]
...teaser somewhere in there if you have good eyes

I'm having some severe electrical issues with my TL.
A while ago my passenger side ballast fried.
So a few days ago I tore everything apart to replace both driver and passenger side ballasts... turns out the fuses also went out. Got the passenger side working again, driver side still nonfunctional.
Today---washed the car with the engine on [lights off]. Go to drive so I turn on the lights as it was night. No lights... fuse fried. Gotta check to see if ballast works tomorrow when it's bright and car is completely dried. Very annoying...

^^^ I agree
and always start diagnoses from the fuse box....
take a hair dryer to the fuse box under the hood, maybe you are getting some water in there which is shorting something

Well, my driver side still needs to be diagnosed. I think the ignitor has gone bad.
My passenger side's original ballast fried which was causing the fuse to blow.
I did previously tap into the low-beams, I'll have to check those connections again.
Waiting a bit this morning hoping the car dried off from last night----fuse blew again. The ballast I installed was for the s2k, TSX or older TL (cant remember which) and the ballast gasket wasn't a direct fit. Water MAY have gotten in there, I'll have to double check.
I do recall seeing some parts of the frame being wet after the wash---but I never had this problem of ballasts and fuses frying before the wreck. And since it's spring it's been constantly raining and thunder-storming. Hoping to solve this issue, ballasts aren't cheap and easy to come buy =/

that's bad business...also, the fact that the fkng wiring harness plug faces UP is too...because if you have condensation or actual water...it's got the path of the wires to follow down and out directly INTO your ballast.
dry it out, replace fuse and silicone that fkr shut!

Seems a bit slow around Azine as a I lurk here every few weeks.
And the people in both 3G TL Facebook groups are filled with morons...
And haven't updated in a long time so...
Got my headlights finally fixed (replaced) and now on my third TL-S bumper!
But at a cost...
And just wanted to share this nice aerial view I got of Montreal on a recent trip overseas (on my return flight)

If you check page 1 in the first first near the bottom you can see some of the process pics.
Just attach the base lip to the TL-S bumper, view it from behind, sharpie the curve of the grilles, then use a dremel and start cutting the a-spec. Sand down for a smooth finish and voila!

To be honest I have no idea. It's some high powered LED---the folks who helped me repair my car put it in for me.
I haven't left yet... Admittedly sometimes it's amusing but most of the time it's incredibly annoying.
And sadly it was more than just bumper damage. They broke my headlight too and bent the frame a bit. Although, I feel like most of the frame damage was from last year's hit and run. (that ended up breaking my lower control arm)

And yeah... It just sucks that the bumper wasn't even a year old yet and it got destroyed by the Dodge Ram Minivan thing whatever it was. (Looked like a minivan sort of but the ownership said it was a Ram, I don't know my domestics very well). Oh well, got a new bumper and two new (used) headlights that are in better condition than my old ones at least =p
I haven't modded in a while... I just pulled out a lot of parts out of my storage that has been sitting around for 1-2 years. I think it's time I got unlazy and went back to work.
Got lots of old projects to finish up, so maybe it won't be so slow around here anymore

Hello guys... been a while I've modded my car.
Tried to go back at it again with my own DIY CSL spoiler. Contemplated on just buying ATLP's... but to me it just looked so chunky.
Been on the fence about buying an Audi lip-spoiler for over a year and molding it to the car.
BUT, I had to make my own to be satisfied.
So bought some clay... and went to work.
Thought it was looking good... worked on it for 3 hours straight into the night.
Got tired. Went to sleep... 2 hours later it rained without me knowing. Come next day I wake up to it essentially disintegrated.
Weather has been on/off with the rain... so that project is on hold for a bit.
The rest of the clay was on the ground...
Few days later... I wanted to install the bumper trims for the grill but realized I lost all my pieces during a recent move. So I ordered new ones.
Looks funny to me (used to seeing empty space).
So... I did the sensible thing and cut it out (thanks to a wireless dremel I was able to cut it without removing the bumper). Will need to fill in the gaps.
Then... couldn't have mismatched hood/grill trims so I went and sanded it.
No going back now... Bye bye TL-S chrome. You were actually a really dope ass color.
Ground coat:
Originally wanted this silver/blue/burnt sort of color. But the cap lied... this thing is strictly blue. Well, fuck.
And now it's been cold the passed few days so painting outside isn't working out as it should be. So... that's also on hold until it gets warmer again.
Also, I have been contemplating on doing this for a long before the TLX came out. Used electrical tape for a few months before to see what it would look like. Then... well... the TLX did come out and I loved it. I had to have it on mine. Except I wanted mine to be "functional" and be an open vent. But it doesn't seem to look as good as the MS Paint-job I did (below). Now I can't go backwards. Oops. :p
Won't post pics of what I actually did just yet... since I'm not sure how to 'fix' it.
Lastly, I have two RDX caliper covers in my car waiting for install. Finally decided to use them (regret not doing it when they were $2/e). Rear BBKs can wait.... since I bought new coils, new wheels and new tires. Along with new ad-ons for my rear diffuser. Contemplating if I should put the covers on black or paint it along with my Brembos.
It's time to return to Acurazine
