Just some spring cleaning

I started my spring cleaning today. Hopefully we've seen enough snow this year. Today I started with just some simple carpet cleaning to get all the salt out of the carpet. Upon inspection I started digging deeper into covered areas. Has anyone, especially northern TL owners take the gas door release cover off and see all the crap that collects underneath that, Here are some pics of mine. I also figured out how to take the dead pedal off and the gas pedal to clean around that.

Here is the cover taken off

Here's what it looks like after 7 years of neglect lol

Here it all cleaned out.

I was also lucky enough to find a quarter

Here's a picture of the gas pedal released from the floor.

The dead pedal is only help on by two clips, I just yanked up and it came right out.

After re installing the passenger seat, I did run into a problem I have yet to figure out. I lost my slide function, but the recline still works so I have to look into that and try to get that working. I almost want to take out the whole carpet and clean underneath it, I'm sure salt sneaks its way in somehow.

You guys are more then welcome to post how dirty underneath your fuel door release is as well.
I'll update this thread while I do some more spring cleaning.

HAPPY CLEANING guys.

I was hoping to see some AFTER pics! The dried salt that has accumulated around the gas pedal is epic. The whole area is just white and crusty. That's going to take me a while to clean up.

I'll take some today. It's hard getting that crusted salt out. All I used is just some carpet cleaner from autozone wish I had a carpet extractor.

I try to vacuum the interior of my car every weekend, because shit starts to collect real quick. My only problem is that my hose end isn't thin enough to properly clean around the gas door release, as well as the side of the seat towards the front where the black metal bar is. The bar as well as how close the seat is to the edge is keeping me from getting to the carpet.

I'm too lazy to give my cars a basic wash and wax and you're over there going all out. Good work man!

buy a new adapter head.
its cheap, like a few dollars for an angled head.

wow! very dirty!

I get anal about having dirty crevices. Last time I dropped some fries in between the seat and the center console, and I ended up unbolting my seats to vacuum it out from underneath
